I bought this to upgrade my sons gaming PC and I have to say this thing is a little workhorse with the overclock feature. I wanted a better CPU without having to upgrade the MOBO and get faster, better performance without bottlenecking. This does the job.
I have it paired with an MSI 460G Mobo and a Nvidia RTX 2060 super and the performance is much better. CPU is running at 60-70 C maxed out (which is well within spec), so I am going to add a liquid cooled fan to bring that down, but even at the 60-70 there's no lag.

If you're looking to make an upgrade to your 10th gen system without having to get a new Mobo, this is a great option

Intel i9 Performance for $230..

So, I know AMD has become the dominate force in CPU's but when I couldn't get ahold of a Ryzen 5 5600X and I heard AMD was having a lot of chips failing I decided to go with the i5-10600K "Especially when the price dropped from $260 to $230" This chip though it has a 125w TDP runs very cool with my 240mm Fractal S24 Prisma AIO (Idle Temps inside a Corsair 4000D case are around 81-82 Degrees "F" Inside a room that stays around 72-73F)
CPU has some serious Overclocking Room. Gamer Nexus showed this CPU beating out a i9 in Gaming with proper RAM and CPU Overclocking, and the results are repeatable because I've tested this myself and found this CPU to be a little monster for Gaming performance. We all know the i5-9600K was the best Gaming CPU for the longest time and the i5-10600K is basically just a i5-9600K 2.0 that's been revised and improved.
At the $230 price tag I would highly suggest this CPU to anyone who wants to stick with Intel and running on the LGA1200 socket. (Please keep in mind that my results are on a water cooled AIO setup so please don't expect the same results)

Case: Corsair 4000D Air Flow
MOB: ASUS Rog Z490 E (DO NOT SUGGEST THIS BOARD OR COMPANY!!)
CPU: i5-10600K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3200Mhz (16gb Kit)
AIO: Fractal Prisma S24 AIO 240mm
GPU: EVGA FTW2 1070Ti
PSU: Seasonic GX750 Gold 750w
SSD: Samsung EVO 840 (1TB) WD Blue (500gb)

This has been a very strong setup for the money so far, so feel free to copy of it what you want.
I just wouldn't use the ASUS Z490E "It arrived broken and ASUS refused to help me at all, so I ended up having to solder and Super Glue on a $300 board to fix the damage from the factory"

The bios of my h510m h motherboard is reading the processor at pcie 2.0 instead of pcie 3.0. So my bandwidth is 4gb. If you change it in the bios to pcie 3.0, most of my games crashes. My rx 6600 sapphire have issue with the change. So the card is default at pcie 2.0 base on the CPU settings.

I was tired of my old Q66 lagging in the latest minecraft. It was my last build somewhere between 10 - 15 years ago and did a great job for what I needed, but it was time to upgrade. My love for the Gigabyte motherboard was hard to disregard during my new choices, because it worked well with Linux Mint (15 through 19) and my latest research indicated that they are still some of the most compatible boards. Anyway, I had to toss that in there, because I'm not sure if this CPU just happened to be a good combination with my new board or is just good in general. I decided on this CPU, because I read it was decent with graphics all on its own and my hope was that it would serve my purposes as such. I am not disappointed. All of the lag is gone! I can go in places I simply could not venture without nightmarish lag before - at 58 - 61 FPS without overclocking. This means I don't have to plug anymore devices into my machine and additional cooling gear to keep it all cool. I am quite happy. I haven't tried any Vulkan API related stuff yet, but I'm hoping it will handle it.

One of the best things about this CPU is how much you can overclock it, so make sure you buy a motherboard like the ASUS z490 that supports overclocking to unlock the full potential of this CPU. It does not come with a cooler or fan but, let's be honest, you should always buy a separate one anyways.

After using this CPU for around 5 months now I can safely say it's a great product.
