Here are the differences:

Stock Speed
3770K - 3.5Ghz
3770 - 3.4Ghz
3770S - 3.1Ghz
3770T - 2.5Ghz

Turbo
3770K - 3.9Ghz
3770 - 3.9Ghz
3770S - 3.9Ghz
3770T - 3.7Ghz

TDP
3770K - 77W
3770 - 77W
3770S - 65W
3770T - 45W

So for power users or oc'ers, you definitely want the K version.

If your system/setup (mostly SFF or HTPC setup) can't handle more than 65W, then you should go for this, or the T version (if you can grab this hard to find series).

Basically, they will all idle at the same power consumption, only at 100% cpu load they differ.

Do your research, grab what you need and you'll be happy.

Have been running since launch week and has far exceeded my expectations. Windows 8 Consumer Preview as primary os, hyper-v virtual machine with windows home server running in the background and CPU usage usually never goes above 5%.

The most amazing part of my htpc/server is that at most times the only fan running is the hyper 212 evo heatsink fan (variable speed using Asus fan xpert2 between 600-700 rpm) and my CPU and motherboard temps have never exceeded 41 Celsius. Also, my system idles at 38 watts.

If I run the rear exhaust fan at 250rpm temps never exceed 35 Celsius.

Word to the wise, If you are planning to use hd4000 graphics with windows media center, make sure to turn off the automatic contrast adjustment in the intel driver settings otherwise you might find the screen constantly adjusting on some recorded content.

Hope you found this helpful. Good luck!

Before I built my rig with this CPU three years ago, I thought I would never grow more fond of a processor than the Core 2 Quad Q6600 I was upgrading from at the time. Although I will always be fond of that chip, the i7-3770S is miles better and does more than I was ever able to do with the Q6600.

I usually run a lot of programs at a time--some CPU-heavy, some not. I'll often be rendering video in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 at the same time I'm running 2-3 VM's, iTunes, Chrome with 10-15 tabs, Outlook, all the background processes Windows demands, and usually a couple RDP sessions. Task Manager says the processor is maxed-out just with Premiere rendering by itself, but there is no slowdown whatsoever. I can still have all I mentioned running and not feel a slowdown. There have been times where I had more programs running than I've listed here, and the i7-3770S still somehow manages to make itself as responsive as if the CPU were idling. In my mind, that makes this chip phenomenal.

Like anyone who likes to stay ahead of the curve technology-wise, I've given some thought to upgrading, but that's all. Just thought. The i7-3770S still does what I ask it to do every day, and I'm not letting it go until it absolutely struggles to do the most basic of tasks. I think I have a few years before I get to that point.

What can you say about Intel. They are the best period! Perfect for flight simulator computers. I have only used Intel for over 20 years now, and my computers that I build, are the fastest around. Years after I have sold them, they are still faster than the AMD systems that you can buuy on the shelves in the stores. You will not regret the investment in genuine Intel Processors.

This is a very fast chip, I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it for what I knew it was. It is a low power, 65 TDP processor that really can handle ANYTHING you could possibly throw at it right now. 3.1ghz with 3.9ghz boost with such a low energy footprint is pretty incredible.

The integrated graphics are just great and are just fine for ANY movie watching or web browsing you could throw at it, the onboard graphics of course are not meant for any heavy 3D gaming or severely intense graphic design work,

If you're looking for a low power solution that has an extreme amount of processing power to it, you couldn't go wrong with this product.

I chose the Core i7-3770S over the unlocked Core i7-3770K because I run virtual machines, five operating systems including, a "Hackintosh", two Unix systems, XP Professional, and soon to be Windows 8 all simultaneously one one machine. The unlocked version of this processor, the 3770K does NOT have the virtual feature enabled. I game as well, but not to the extent that over clocking is necessary. I've owned this processor since building my own "Ivy Bridge" desktop machine and it has done everything I have asked it to do and done it very well I might add.
