What I do want to note is that there is one big flaw with this CPU - the included CPU cooler. I went with the recommendations made by Intel and others online that if you are not overclocking, the stock cooler would be fine - WRONG! I installed the stock cooler and ran some tests encoding a HD video. With the stock cooler, the CPU was running between 90-96 degrees C, still under the limit of 100 that most recommend, but very hot. Since I knew I would be doing a lot of encoding with this system, I went ahead and purchased a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005O65JXI/ref=pe_385040_30332190_TE_M3T1_ST1_dp_1) from Amazon. The difference was huge! Encoding the exact same video and my CPU now ran at 50-56 degrees C, 40 degrees cooler than with the stock cooler. Do yourself a favor and get a better cooler.
I rebuilt my computer using the components listed below. I built my previous system and several others. I used my existing Antec case and 430 watt power supply and miscellaneous 1Tb hard drives. I started from scratch and installed win 8.1 Pro rather than upgrading from Win 7. I am not a gamer, I do not overclock and I use Photoshop/Lightroom/MS Office but wanted a decent video card. I also bought right over a 2 week period, I managed to get everything during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale except for the video card. Everything works on my case, speakers, lights, USB2, headphones, except the firewire since it is not supported by the motherboard. I have powered USB3 at the front of the case. I am very happy with the overall speed of the system and it boots up fast. My Kill A Watt says I am using about 85 watts as I am sitting here writing this. I have seen it get up as high as 150 watts. I had the CPU temp set at 60°C in the BIOS and it beeped at me while doing some heavy processing so I reset it to 70°C.
My only nit is the USB3 connection to the motherboard does not lock, but that is minor. I chose the major components because I have used the brand before and had good luck (except my last video cards were EVGA, which were fine). I chose the Gigabyte card because it came configured how i wanted it and the price was right.
Here is my Build:

Tested with 3 different boards asrock, MSI and evga, ran memtest for 12 hours and prime95 for 4 hours without an issue, but I was unable to install win8 or 7.
My replacement arrived promptly, and it worked like a charm, when I was packing the CPU back I noticed an F written with pencil on the inside box, I wonder if I received a previous return but the original packaging seem to be factory made.
I expect a better qa for the price, it made me RMA a perfectly fine MB and ive spent over a week trying to get this machine up.
I am running everything at stock. I'm sure a lot of people will read that and think I'm lame, but CPU and GPU are both running at stock. I don't need anything faster. On this system, I can have all of the windows open I want and everything is super responsive with no waiting for anything. I also can reboot in 15 seconds or less. That time is from clicking reboot to desktop.
One of the great things about this CPU and the chipsets etc., needed for the Haswell platform is seems so much more power efficient. My battery backups shows the power consumption of the devices connected and when I idle on this system (not in sleep/hibernate as I turn that off), I idle around 65W with monitors off compared to 120-130W with my old system (AMD Phenom II x4).

ausreichend Leistung erzielt. Natürlich immer in Abhängigkeit
