What can I say about this processor that hasn't been said by every reviewer, purchaser, and prospective purchaser in the world? It's good, it's very good, in fact. As of right now, short of the Xeon Haswell processors, it is the definition of enthusiast grade. The six cores, for me, were highly overclockable (I got mine to a cozy 4.6 GHz) and things run like I've never seen before. One big question people ask is "why would you pay so much more for just .2 GHz?" Well I wouldn't have, had I not needed plenty of PCIE lanes for my build. To put things simply, if all you want is a fast processor with cores to next Sunday and all you need lanes for is one graphics card then by all means, the 5820k will likely be a better fit, but if you want SLI with two cards getting the full 16x and perhaps a sound card or a PCIE SSD, this processor is a 10/10. With Haswell-E and DDR4 prices coming down amidst Skylake being released, I see no reason not to jump into the X99 platform that will likely last you just fine until 2017-18 without a necessary upgrade.

This thing is a monster. I have mine OC'd to 4.0 and it doesn't break 60c. I OC'd it to 4.5 for giggles and it got up to 83c which was not a comfortable place for me so I backed it down to 4. I know there is the debate about Skylake being the better choice for gaming but I'm betting on the extra cores. The industry seems to be heading towards putting more demand on the processor so we'll see. So far, no regrets!

Works fantastic i have it running at 4.2ghz for now and i haven't had any issues with it overheating or anything. My temps are mid to upper 20s C on idle and when i game i don't pass 50C in a room of about 70F degrees. That leaves me more room to OC to 4.5 possibly. So happy i purchased this CPU gaming and streaming work flawless on this cpu and you don't even feel a hit on performance. Only con is the price! but i guess for 40 lanes you cant complain. If you only have 1 GPU or even 2 i say go with the 5820K overclock it to 4.3ghz no problem and you have a monster in your hands just as well as this one. If you plan to go big dog 3 or 4way SLI go for this one or even better. Highly recommend!

UPDATE: I have been using this CPU for about 6 months now and I have OC to 4.5Ghz Stable since then never passing 64C depending on your setup and fans which i am using Noctua 2000rpm IP67 industrial fans. Streaming on Twitch.TV/HENROCKCITY 720p 60fps no problem with any game i stream. I love this CPU so far its excellent.

Bought this for a hackintosh build as my old computer could not keep up with my demand for photo and video editing. It worked right out of the box and overclocked like a dream (got it to 4.678 GHz without any hassle and only at 55 degrees Celsius at full load on a mediocre water cooler system [Cooler Master 120m Seidon]) so definitely a legitimate reseller for high quality product. The shipping was super quick and well protected; my only complaint would be that the shipping company left it on the doorstep without knocking or ringing the bell which I find unacceptable given the cost of the item warranting a signature upon delivery, but that is no fault of the seller in my book.

Just a quick review, I ended up with an amazing chip. I have been running stable at 4.5GHz with 1.249v to the core for months. Temps ~58C under full load on closed loop radiator cooling. I could probably push this chip much higher given that I would be comfortable going as high as 1.3v on the core for a faster overclock, but I'm satisfied with the current performance so I see no need.

Love, love, love, this cpu. It's head and shoulders above my old i7 920. Haven't really got far into the overclocking yet as I'm still waiting for some parts to finish my setup. Handle two gtx 980 sli no problem. I was going to get the 5960 and was feeling remorseful I didn't. After playing some games and encoding some video all my doubts have gone out the window. Unless you require the additional features the 5960 gives you get this 5930. You won't be able to tell a difference in day to day use.
