Had the Threadripper before this, highly disappointed. Event hough it's a 6th gen, it's still futurerpoof. Goodjob Intel.
They dont make them like they used to. ;/
Combined it with the Asus TUF Sabertooth x99 with Corsair C15 DDR4 3000mhz . Perfect combo.
Mine ended up being an okay overclocker hitting 4.4ghz @ 1.37v which is a little high and unfortunately 4.5ghz was only stable at 1.42 which is not where I wanted voltages to be so I backed it off to 4.4ghz.

The downside is that, for now, the only option for this CPU is the old X99 chipset which is lagging behind with the newest options you get with Z270 chipsets. It's still the loudest bang for the buck in the HEDT playing field if you want the capability of 40 PCIEx lanes.
Intel gets 4 stars since the chipset is so old that lower, current, offerings inspire features into the next gen X series and it makes a slow evolving chipset part with a high price tag for such a low offering. E.G.: no raid support on M.2 storage even on slot adapters.
The 6800K is also a great chip and cheaper, Though if you SLI go with the 6850K as you get more pcie lanes.
What can I say, It's a brilliant chip and will last me for years and years
