Finally, in addition to the obligatory basics like John Locke, you'll read about Jerry Fallwell, Pizza Hut, and Starbucks (among others) all in one volume. It's a very interesting field of law to say the least. The authors write in a clear easy to read style so even somebody who is not practicing law and/or studying in a course could pick up the text and easily follow along. The authors want people to understand what is going on and how these cases were decided/why they were decided. I have no prior training in Intellectual property and even I felt immediately comfortable with the material. I understood the cases and what they were about.
Because of the material and how that material is written, this volume is an ideal a purchase for (especially) urban public libraries. A drawback though is that the 'materials' are not presented in a traditional textbook format (with definitions either at the side of a page and/or at the back of the book) and somebody needing further assistance is going to have to well, perform this with additional resources besides the particular text
