I got the console in the mail this week - happy, joy, joy. Intellivsion was a really quirky console back in it's day and the console really emulates this nostalgia with the authentic Intellivision controllers. I was real excited to finally play some of these long lost games. I have not had a chance to go through all the games, but the emulation is good. The sound is not spot on however; minor points off. The 1P vs computer is awesome on Baseball and Football. I remember I had these games as a kid and it was 2P only and I could never find anyone to play with. Back in the early 80's if you had an Intellvision there was a good chance you were the only kid in the neighborhood that had one. This unit would be 5/5 stars if it had save state for games like Night Stalker and the Dungeon and Dragons games. To my memory there was not a save state on the original console either. The Minotaur game is really cool if you like retro RPG's. Very basic concept but a really cool game. I would love to see more games and save states but this may be the last stand for this quirky console.

I purchased this as a gift for my brother because we had one growing up. The games are mostly unplayable, the controllers don't respond for anything, and some of the listed games aren't in the actual product. Also, they only include a few overlays. Most of the available games do not have them, which makes them impossible to play even if the system actually worked.
If the console worked, it would be worth finding the overlays on line and printing them up, even if it's only on paper and they will not last. At least we could enjoy the console. Unfortunately it's a $45 paperweight.

its funny, i have the Ps4 and Xbox one, yet hear laughter coming from the room as they play with this system, that's the biggest thing lost in these new systems, yes they have sick graphics, lots of memory blah blah, but no family laughter, that's one thing Intellivion had that the big systems lost .

I prefer to be nice but this was a big disappointment. Most of the games worked like we remembered. Then it stopped working after one month. It just gives random color or static on the screen as soon as it is powered up. It's a completely useless hunk of plastic in a box.

It's great to have easy Intellivision games, but the overlays are a nightmare. They only give you a small portion of the games, and the rest are sold out on their website (and very expensive). They're also crap. They started falling apart immediately, with the front print coming apart from the backing around the corners at first, but very quickly this became serious. Played a great game of Dungeons & Dragons, just be sure to note that some games don't have the same names. Good luck finding "FOOTBALL" for example. It's there, but that's not what it's called and guess what - NO OVERLAY.

Before I go any further let me start by saying please excuse that my review doesn't say 'Amazon Verified Purchase'.I just ordered it this weekend and waiting for it to ship....this is my second Intellivision Flashback by AtGames.Someone's probably saying 'oh gosh what happened to the first one'? not a thing.Had it for the past eight months and holding up really well with no problems at all.Bought my first at the Dollar General in fact completely unaware this even came out.I just wanted a back-up for that doomed day when it stops working I'm never without it.Although I might be jumping the gun on that remark as this company may be cranking out these Flashback systems 1,2,5, or 10 years from now I hope they don't get discontinued.
So is this Intellivision Flashback fully satisfying?
There is one thing I do wish for this system years down the road even if it increases cost by a good five to seven dollars. That is for there to be more (if not all) of the plastic sleeves that slide in over the numeric keypad for the games. They were excellent re-creations of the originals.A little experimenting you'll figure things out but still.Nice wooden paneling, that brushed champagne gold coloring.Put together really well and buttons and flat trackball style roller on controller respond really well.Aside from the missing cartridge slot (and a huge stack of games) it was like someone pulled a new old stock Intellivision system pulled from the past into our time.Easier hook-up and the technology consolidating all these games into the system for instant access.
Are these games accurate to the original Intellivision?
To be 100% honest I have not played the old Intellivision cartridge games since probably 1990-1993.My uncle had one and at the time his Intellivision was suffering more from 'damaged cartridge bracket syndrome'(common problem we learned too late could be fixed) as time went by.When the Sega Genesis came out he retired the Intellivision back to it's box.Now from playing Boxing,Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack,Auto Racing,Backgammon,Horse Racing,Baseball,Super Pro Basketball and Minotaur (formerly known as Treasures of Tarmin)...I can't tell a difference from memory. In Auto Racing using the roller I don't notice a lag in framerate as it was easy to turn too sharply. As far as substitute colors I haven't caught onto anything as an emulator.Yeah in Treasures of Tarmin(Minotaur) you moved frame by frame so it didn't appear slower.Though I highly recommend Minotaur, as a FPS game it's certainly a tasty nugget in the collection.I just can't find anything wrong with my $35 purchase.
Bottom Line:
Highly outdated versus games of today? yes the Intellivision Flashback certainly is.Yet it's not about materialism in order to enjoy this console...it's about fun.For example imagine 20 years from now at a family social event and a family member is bragging how they beat you at a video game (throughout internet connection).Wouldn't it be nice if they were there beside you on the couch to make it an actual memory.Or even a more solid memory saying to a friend 'yeah my brother/sister and I used to play used to play this old-school game World Championship Baseball'.They become confused by the pixelated characters of solid colors and simplistic outlook versus what's out today.Their materialist side comes out and they criticize it and ask why spouting off a bunch of titles furiously competing which each other year after year, graphics and all.And you simply rebuttal 'it was never about the graphics. It was just about enjoying a good game of baseball. Why did the rules of baseball change along with the graphics?' a good point.Technology progressing is a good thing if shaped right (taking into account the 60 games onboard) but were also being molded into spoiled brats with the desire to have the hottest Smartphone,HDTV, or just what's trendy or 'in' to a lot of others.Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy the Intellivision Flashback system.

I was really thrilled when I saw this was coming out and I was not disappointed. My old Intellivision consoles are all pretty unreliable so to have a plug and play was fantastic news. I was hoping the games would be perfect replicas and from the ones I have played so far they are excellent and identical.
Treasure of Tarmin is now called Minatour and this is a game I loved as a kid and its replicated perfected. Its a winner already!
Some of the colours in some games are slightly different (the muddy track in Horseracing is more green than brown) but the gameplay and sounds are great. Very happy!

Nostalgia in a perfect little package.

A blast from the past, Intellivision returns with 60 classic titles able to be played as intended, on a miniaturized Intellivision console with exact replica controllers. Grew up with the original Intellivision in the early 80's and as soon as I heard this set was being released I bought it instantly. A must have item for a retro gamer, a fan of oldschool gaming in general or simply a collector of vintage video games from the dawn on the console era.
Provides both a comforting nostalgic look back to my early childhood, but also makes me appreciate just how far gaming has come from the Intellivision age to the Playstation 4 age and as someone who has been a lifelong gamer, you really need to see the beginning of the gaming console age to appreciate where it is now.
Only negatives I can mention are that the item only works on analogue TV's, so unless you have an older set lying around you may need to pick up an adapter to use the item.
There are also a few notable classic titles missing from the game collection, but I suppose there is always the possibility of an Intellivision Flashback Volume II, as Atari has done with their consoles.

Not worth the $.

Very cheaply made. First one we ordered didn't work, the second one arrived with a broken controller. Saved our $$ instead for a vintage one.

Sadly I wasn't able to play this game and satisfy my flash back game instinct. The toy had a failure. Plase consider to ask the vendor to check this product before they send it to you. Best regards.
