Top customer reviews
The bad news is, I still have no closet door from my husband. The GOOD news is, this tension rod is still going strong! I half expected something to happen since there were a TON of negative reviews, but this rod has completely exceeded my expectations. As stated above, it is used to hold a super heavy duty blackout curtain for a 6' Wx 8'.5"H area. The curtain is used as a closet door, which gets lots of use all day long. The tension rod has NOT moved, NOT even a little. I'm super impressed with this rod and wouldn't believe any of the negative reviews. I followed the instructions to the tee. although I did not hear a click, I made sure I twisted it enough to ensure that it was set in place. I admit I was super nervous about this after reading some of the reviews, but the reviews could not be more wrong. Don't even hesitate, buy this rod!
UPDATE: over a year later, STILL HOLDING STRONG!!!!!! Has not moved an inch with daily heavy use!!!!
Very excessive packaging, but it didn't come bent or scratched, so...
Second impression - this is quite attractively finished: the end caps are also brushed metal, but with softer rubberized faces to grip the wall. (Nice touch!)
Third impression - this is adjustable as to length by pushing/pulling, then it locks at a length by twisting - all done before putting it in place. Then, the built-in spring tension gives it a bit of "play" to fit it to the gap you want to span - and it also makes it simpler to size to the opening. (It just pops into place, no twisting needed at the point of installation.)
HOWEVER, as another reviewer pointed out, if you do not READ AND FOLLOW the directions, you are likely to find yourself frustrated.
