With college finally coming to an end, Elle and Tristan are ready to take the next toward a future together. With Elle’s journalism dreams coming true, all Tristan needs is to be drafted into the NFL to seal their perfect future. The happy ever after they’ve both wanted for so long is within reach. Or is it? A devastating tragedy forces the couple to deal with more pain either of them have experience before. As Tristan steps up to be Elle’s rock, another surprise is headed their way. As someone from their past resurfaces, their relationship could be shattered forever. Will focusing on the most important thing, each other, be enough to keep them together?
Having been pleasantly surprised and completely drawn into Elle and Tristan’s story it the first two books of this series, it will be no surprise to hear how excited I was to jump into Interception. After having dealt with so much pain in Addiction, I was ready for Tristan and Elle to have their happy ever after. If you too are hoping for this, be prepared for some serious heartache! If you thought the first two books were emotional, this is a whole new level. There are some tragic events in this book and I was left devastated for them at multiple times throughout their story. Go into this book prepared; a box of tissues, lots of chocolate and plenty of free time to get through it in one go. Yes, it’s emotional, but so so worth it. If you love Tristan and Elle as much as I do, you will love this final chapter.
Speaking of my favourite couple, I didn’t think it was possible to fall in love with them anymore than I already was. Somehow, I’ve managed to and I’m now suffering from deep withdrawal symptoms; how can this be their last story?! Alongside some other favourites, I am not ready to let them go. For Alyssa (one of my favourites!), this is a tough read. We see her struggle, which shows a different side to her character that we haven’t yet seen. As I’ve already said, prepare yourself!
I would like to congratulate, and thank, the author for writing such a wonderful series. I have loved meeting Tristan and Elle and following their story over the course or many years. This will definitely be a series I revisit! I cannot recommend it enough, so if you haven’t already bought yourself a copy, go do it now!
But of course life has a way of intercepting everything they have worked so hard for.
It’s been months since Elle’s miscarriage and the pain that remains still threatens to undo her. Tristan is a rock to her even as he watched the love of life rushed into surgery, but after being thrown into chaos the couple learns to work through the hurt and pain and find solace.
But when someone from the past resurfaces they seek to shatter their relationship for good, but no distraction could keep these best friends apart even from the beginning, especially when their love became too strong for them to ignore. But before they can have a future, they must learn to conquer the hardships in which they will face and embrace what is truly important.
Interception is the third and final book in the Distraction series by Angela McPherson.
Angela McPherson writes an incredible story that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that has you crying, shouting with anger and happiness. This is the first book have read in this series, I think that it can be read as a stand-alone, I didn’t get lost in the story it flowed nicely and kept me hooked from the start. I do think though for me to really connect with characters and to fully understand all that they go through I really need to read the other books in the series.
With that being said I love the story behind this book of two best friends that fall in love, and try to have the relationship they could only dream of. Then to face all that these characters go through, this book can’t help but capture your heart. Throughout this book you feel as though you are part of their struggles, and you really feel what they feel while reading.
The subject of miscarriage is a very real and raw subject and Angela McPherson writes it well while also being sensitive about the matter, she shows how as a couple deals with the heartache and how they individually go through it. Most of this book tells real issues and Angela McPherson faces these head on and tells them how they are meant to be.
Even though I only read this book you can really tell how much love these two characters have for each other, they really deserve each other especially with all that they go through during all the books, they show that they can work through their problems and grow together to finally get the future that they so desperately want together.
With everything Elle has been through, I think most people would be inconsolable but Elle seems to hold things together a lot better than I personally would, she may shut down and shut people out but that is her only way of dealing and copping with these heart aching situations. But for her to get through this and come out the other side I think this shows just how much of a strong woman she is.
Tristen is Elle’s rock, he pulls her back once she shuts down, but he is also so afraid that Elle will leave him again, it’s heart-breaking to see what both of these go through and despite it all they face it together.
This is an incredible emotional story, that faces real life issues, that has incredible characters that have fight and love. I’m seriously gutted that I didn’t read the first two books in the Distraction Series, with the story being as amazing as it was I can only imagine how brilliant the other two are. So don’t miss out on this series, fall in love with these characters and fall in love with their story.
