"romance" and I'm insulted it is,this more about Cyborg/Droid's gain the rights the need and deserve and continuing the poor from the 1st book more than anything else.... Their is NO relationship building just 3 ppl who seem to bump into each other occasionally have sex once or soo ,angry and misjudge each other easily, walk away w/out answers and some how for not true reason we get show form an attachment to each other....
If you wanna read this because you LOVE reading about Cyborg type characters and their struggles and or you loved Coral and want more Please do!!! But if you randomly find this like I did and are looking for a good M/F/M menage and or romance ? My opinion is Keep Looking..... Coz the has sex ( more talked about than actual) but little to no romance...
Paisley Compton, palace maid & best friend to Coral Sechshundert, is stunned when in the span of an hour she meets two very distracting men while out delivering some faulty cleaning bots to the repair shop. One named Ben Reynolds, nicknamed McHottie, who is devastatingly handsome and flirty who leaves her flustered. The other, nicknamed Robohippie after quickly identifying him as an aggravating and sexy mech, is Jon Bond, former pleasure droid & spy who worked with both Ben and Coral’s boyfriend, Quinn.
Her inner sexual fantasies quickly turn into a nightmare for Paisley after she sees both men again at a palace dinner, and is fired after tripping then landing in McHottie’s lap. She’s soon on her feet again and working with Coral to help all self aware robots who wish to apply for their Certificate of Humanity. But, not everyone is for these mechs seeking liberation. Those against are out to destroy the bill and all who apply. Paisley is willing to do everything possible to stop the Anti-Mechs and protect the innocent, including her best friend, Coral.
In her efforts to help others find freedom, validation and love, Paisley also finds it herself along the way…without realizing that she was actually even looking.
Interlocking Hearts is the second book in the DMA Files by Roxy Mews. In the first book, Coral-600, we were introduced to the main characters, Paisley, Quinn and Coral; and what it means to be human. Interlocking Hearts follows Paisley, Coral’s best friend, who is trying to find her place after her friend decides to take on the human world. I believe that this should not be read alone as it ties in with Coral-600.
After reading about Paisley in the first book I was interested in her story as she had some mystery to her. She hid behind her…outgoing personality…so strongly you couldn’t help but want to peel back the layers. Paisley knows what she does and does not want out of life and love has no place in hers. Jon and Ben are roommates and best friends with Quinn, Coral’s boyfriend. With Coral taking on the government to grant humanoids humanity, they find themselves up against an enemy they were not totally prepared for. Jon and Ben are there to find out who is behind the Anti-Mech protests and suspect it is an inside job. Jon in his former life was a pleasure bot who was abused and mistreated by his former owners; whereas Ben has had the same treatments that Quinn underwent. Did I mention they enjoy sharing?
Paisley sets out to seduce Mr. Hottie, aka Ben, before she realizes that Ben and Jon come as a package deal. But what better way to satisfy her hunger than between these two sexy men. But as they get to know one another they realize their attraction runs so much deeper. As Paisley joins Coral in helping give robots human rights, she starts to see she wants more; love, passion, and a future.
I enjoyed this novel because we got to delve deeper into the humanoids and who they are. I thought it was a perfect edition to The DMA Files Series. Paisley is a woman who is not afraid of who she and so many of us can relate to her. The tension between the trio, Jon, Paisley, and Ben kept me intrigued until the last page. The three are a perfect together as they all balance each other out. Ben is the serious and understanding one, Jon’s the protective and in-your-face one, and Paisley is the fun-loving and cautious all help each other heal the wounds that never seemed to close. It is a great continuation to this series and I sincerely hope there is another novel to the series. Plus I would not mind getting to know Jon a bit more. I think it is the whole robohippie thing he has going on. Yum!
I was given a copy of this book as a gift from The JeepDiva in exchange for an honest review. The opinions and ratings are my own and I was in no way compensated for my review.
