For a fun activity, iplay's new version of Battling Tops is fantastic. We've played with both children and adults, and everyone was laughing and cheering. Its easy for almost anyone. We had 4-year olds able to play.

Unfortunately, after only two plays, two of the tops are damaged. The teeth that fit into the rip cord are breaking off, causing misfires and slower spin rate for those two tops. I don't believe we've had any unusual use or roughness with them, they're just fragile. I realize this is a low-end game, but I'd still expect the product to stand up to more play before breaking down.

I purchased this toy for an after-school program for approximately 45 children, and it is played constantly by both girls and boys. The tops and spinning sticks are made of plastic and not holding up well (little pieces have broken off). It's still a very popular game, but everyone wants the blue top because it's the only one that still spins well. Unfortunately, I need to research replacement parts after only three weeks of play.

I WANT THE ORIGINAL BATTLING TOPS FROM 30 YEARS AGO. IT WAS AWESOME. THIS VERSION IS A JOKE. IT IS TOO SMALL AND THE RIPCORD MISFIRES HALF THE TIME. I WANT A REFUND

I have four boys, ranging in age from 6-15. As you might imagine, finding a game that is fun for all four to play together is a challenge. When this update of the classic Battling Tops arrived, I (uncharacteristically) thought the updates were terrific, and welcome. No more broken or tangled strings,... the rip chord approach seemed a perfect upgrade for this game, and we had a lot of fun playing it together. After a few days though, only one of the stations works properly. The plastic used is either too low-grade, or is too thin. The channels for the rip chords are already stripped, and so the game is now landfill. Exciting for a brief moment, but the fun quickly turned to disappointment.

I cant really add much to what other have said. its lots of fun. The gear system is clever, and probably a better system then the Battling tops I had as a kid. But the Quality is very cheap...so far we have not broken any but it's just a matter of time.

That said its a lot fun to play. I gave it to my 10year old niece, she played with it a lot...probably got palyed with more then the more expensive games she gotten.

Given the price its fine...I guess at least 2 tops will probably survive for a while so the game will continue to be playable.

My grandson asked me for a spinning top for Christmas, so I did what I do best start an internet search. I found this game of spinning tops and gave it to my grandson for Christmas. He was happy and after he opened it he played with it all day and to top it off he played it with his grandfather.

I read all of the reviews about this game and so ordered it with full knowledge of the "quality" issues people have complained about. I figured it's cheaper than seeing a movie so if my boyfriend and I got a few good plays out of it- I'd be happy. And I am. This game is AMAZING fun. My boyfriend played this as a kid and he got a huge kick out of seeing it again and loves that you don't have to wrap the cords around the tops with this updated version. We've played it a handful of times now- all the bits are still in perfect working order so (fingers crossed) it will last a bit longer. LOVE IT!!!! :)

This is just plain simple physical fun. They shouldn't even bother with the instruction sheet. This has really brought out the kid in everyone who has tried it. Everyone ends up smiling.

The tops fly off the platform fairly often, so don't get your face too close.
