The sole intent of this review is to inform buyers that NO REVIEW of Seriphos before May of 2016 should be considered valid for ANY Seriphos purchased and received after May of 2016. The product has changed dramatically and so must be reevaluated with a clean slate.

(People have been asking whether they recently received the original or the updated Seriphos. The labels note a different substance -- Phosphorylated Serine versus Phosphatidylserine -- and show their ingredients. To help clarify this I have attached an annotated scan of both the original and new Seriphos formulations.)

In the late spring of 2016, the original Interplexus Seriphos formulation was dramatically changed. Initial anecdotal reports have indicated that the new formulation may no longer be effective. (See the comments to this review and any other RECENT reviews.) Upon learning of a previous edition of this review, the medical director/owner of Interplexus contacted me (by phone from France) to explain the changes they have made. He is extremely proud of the quality, purity, and integrity of the sourcing of their new formulation's ingredients. Based upon what he said, the good news is that no one will need to worry about contamination from foreign substances, lead, aluminum, other heavy metals, etc. or the presence of non-nutritional excipients. But, unfortunately, the bad news is that that this new Seriphos does not appear to be nearly as effective as the original. :(

Both public information and private communication indicate that this new Seriphos contains no serine phosphate (thus the original name Seriphos) but now, instead, contains a comparatively low amount of high quality phosphatidylserine (PS) combined with high quality anti-stress minerals.

After many, many years of ill-health and without a diagnosis from a 'conventional' medical practitioner I finally contacted a naturapathic doctor who after undertaking a saliva test for various hormone levels (cortisol and DHEA, and known as the Adrenal Stress Index test), suggested the initial use of Seriphos. Almost immediately after first using this product the acute anxiety I had experienced for so long suddenly ceased. Further research on my part and on-going support from my naturapathic doctor revealed that with a sub-clinical form of adrenal gland insuffiency (otherwise now known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or sometimes ME), other parts of the endocrine system (hypothalamus and pituitary glands) attempt to compensate by constantly stimulating the exhausted adrenal glands for the production of more hormones. This produces a quite appalling and apparently unique combination of anxiety, sleeplessness and extreme fatigue that fails to allow the adrenals to ever rest and eventually recover. Seriphos seems to work by convincing the hypothalamus and pituitary glands that they don't need to keep up their incessant stimuation of the adrenal glands and for the long time CFS sufferer a wonderful calmness is experienced for the first time in years. This is only the first stage to recovery, however, as the adrenals now need to be worked on and supported via other means. A really wonderful product for the CFS patient.

I showed my bottle of Seriphos to my doctor before taking it the first time. He said it can be stimulating to some people with insomnia. That's exactly what happened to me. I tried it at various times of day and ended up taking it 15 minutes before breakfast. That schedule worked wonders giving me really good quality sleep at night.

So just be aware you may need to make adjustments as to when you take it and enjoy sleep, wonderful sleep!

the new formula is basically useless since it is NOT Phosphorylated Serine. It is Phosphatidylserine which is ineffective for insomnia and adrenal fatigue. The label hasn't changed on amazon's site but I received the new bottle from PurePrescriptions. It works NOTHING like the old seriphos for 50% higher price. The best recommendation I can make is Enerphos which is the only other Phosphorylated Serine I know of. I haven't tried it yet but I am ordering it. Will leave a review for it once I try it.

I have been sick for years and years, and finally decided I was done with that. I switched to amino acids, and a serious, all-out program to help me get rid of the adrenal fatigue that was ruining my life. It is slow going, but every day I feel better.

I have a bunch of products that I love and use, including Dr Lam's breathing exercises, rosea rhodiola (spelling?), GABA, licorice and ashwaganda tea, l-tryptophan, l-theanine, vitamin c, 5000 vitamin D, methyl B12, and do-phenylalanine for occasional pain. oh, and I am also on the GAPS diet.

With all this I was really feeling almost like my old self, but just couldn't quite get past that point of really feeling good. So I added this Seriphos a couple weeks ago. At first I didn't know when to take it, but then I got it figured out, and it has put me over the top. I now sleep, and wake up feeling pretty good. But, I also don't feel all wound up and stressed out before bed, and I can handle almost anything now without completely crashing. I used to be down more days than up, and now I only have one or 2 down days a month, and have energy, and stamina.

So, this is how I use the Seriphos: I take one around dinner time, just before I eat. I then take 2 at bedtime. They don't really make me sleepy, they just make me not want o get up and fix everything wrong with my life right at bedtime, or in the middle of the night, of I wake up. Instead, I now actually handle things during the day.

If anyone would like more specific info about all I am doing, feel free to contact me. I did all this work it should help others. Oh, and don't fall for any of those things that offer you the world for just 39.99, or whatever price. All this info out there is free, or reasonable.
