Before I get started let me add this disclaimer: I watch movies to be entertained. I don't watch movies looking for flaws in production or with the hopes of pointing out every false statement or fact. When I watch a movie I don't care if it's not 100% realistic. This doesn't mean that I enjoy movies that are complete horse crap but I watch them for fun not as a job or hobby so any and all things mentioned below are solely the opinions of someone watching a movie for enjoyment.

It's 4/2/2017. I've had the ability to watch this movie on Prime for a long time now but never bothered, I just didn't think I was interested in it. Tonight/this morning I decided I wanted to watch a movie and, for whatever reason, I finally decided to watch Interstellar. I generally prefer medieval/fantasy movies with lots of action but sometimes the part of me that loves Star Wars decides on si-fi and I decide to find something to watch. Since I didn't quite feel like renting Arrival this won. I've never regretted not seeing a movie sooner until today. This movie was beautifully written and acted with enough things to blow your mind without overdoing it. The effects are astounding and awe inspiring; nothing short of breathtaking. The story is investing but not in the way you quite expect. If you're a Prime customer I can think of absolutely no reason to not watch this the next chance you have and if you're not I would HIGHLY suggest renting it for a night in. Don't expect a lot of action because there's just enough at the perfect points to keep you interested but instead this movie sucks you in with the suspense and intrigue and that's what ultimately keeps you going.

This is, honestly, one of the best movies I've seen in ages. When it began I thought I'd hate it. It would be another cliche alien movie, where the aliens would turn out to be horrible things that killed them in the end. It was nothing like I expected. It challenged what I thought I knew, it had unexpected twists and turns. The ending was magnificent. It weaves a tale of human will, the power of love, and the force of unwavering determination. Not only does it paint suffering and sacrifice in a beautiful light, it shows the futility of them as well. I would watch this movie again in a heartbeat, it is the best movie I've watches in years, and, perhaps, the best space/alien movie I've ever seen.

I loved Interstellar, and it's not just for the storyline and the fine acting by an all-star cast. It's one of the best efforts by Hollywood filmmakers to stay within the known boundaries of science and not let screenwriters play too fast and loose with reality. Having the well known and respected Dr. Kip Thorne, an American theoretical physicist known for his work in gravitational physics and astrophysics, as a consultant, ensured that Interstellar came closer than any movie that I've seen to treating subjects like wormholes, time dilation, and gravity as realistically as possible.

It's an engaging, very original story about humanity's efforts to survive even with the Earth dying. A small group of humans are trying to find ways for the human species to survive, but time is running short, and it's unclear whether either Plan A or Plan B will be successful. No spoilers from me, but it's almost three hours of suspenseful drama, and unlike many - if not most - sci-fi movies, there were no ludicrous scenes where science was totally ignored. (Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the 2013 film Gravity, but there were so many science errors that I had to laugh sometimes.) To me, Interstellar had the flavor of two other great sci-fi films: 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and Contact (1997). And a couple of tie-ins with those films: The robots in Interstellar resemble the monolith in 2001, and Matthew McConaughey starred in both Interstellar and Contact.

I have not been so moved by a movie since I was a young man in my twenties. Now at 52 I have to say BRAVO for so many reasons and for so many ways this science/science fiction instant classic is an intelligent, emotional, exciting, edge of your seat entertainment that stays on the mind
for days if not weeks for many! This is the kind of movie that will spark and inspire the imagination of those with the will to ask "what if". For without
the "what if's" out there we are done as a race. I will definitely add this one to my library.

This is a good movie, not great. But why I gave this movie 4 stars is because it is rare to find a Hollywood Blockbuster movie with an original script. We live in a time where every blockbuster movie is a sequel, prequel, book or superhero. Originality is out the window with good reason. It's hard to gamble a lot of money on a movie without a fanbase. It's a hard sell, I get it. So it takes a director like Nolan (director with Hollywood clout), to make a movie with an original screenplay. It's not a perfect film, far from it. I'm also not saying this movie is completely original (tips its cap to 2001). But its a great accomplishment in this industry.

Definitely a good movie about space and time. If you're into movies with a building storyline and not instant gratification, then this is the movie for you. I've watched this movie on 3 separate occasions and it pulls me into the story every time. While most of the facts portrayed in the movie are fictional, the storyline allows you to take what you know and consider the possibilities to be factual or inspirational even. Each time I've been enveloped by the story, I've been able to connect/relate to the character and situations. I'm not going to lie, this movie is pretty long, but to me it was worth it.

Saw it in theaters when it first came out and was blown away by the story. 2 years later I watched it again and was just as amazed. Great tale about a father's love and what he'll endure to provide a better life for his kids.
