Interview, the (2014) / Night Before, the / Pineapple Express / This Is the End - SetINTERVIEW / NIGHT BEFORE / PINEAPPLE EXPRESSDVD
Product Description
Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapaport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show ‘Skylark Tonight.’ When they discover that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the most unlikely candidates, to “take out” Kim Jong-un.

If there was a movie that Kim Jong could show to North Korea in order to show them why they should want nothing to do with America this would be that movie. In the good old days Communist countries produced propaganda films in order to convince their people that America was a place that they wanted nothing to do with. Those were the days before the beloved "Sexual Revolution" when American was a God fearing nation which protected and not subverted the innocent. Now America is proud to produce its very own endless flood of films which accomplishes the same thing but sadly it's becoming less propaganda and more a sobering reality. This movie flaunts everything about America that has rotted her from the core as though it were so much to be desired. Nothing about America that once made her a shining city on a hill is shown in this movie. The torch of liberty is replaced here with a torch of debauchery. This is what happens when pornography is declared "free speech" by the "Supreme Court". America desperately needs to return to God and clean up her closet before telling other countries how to live. This movie made me ashamed and embarrassed for our country.

The Interview is famous for the fact that North Korea threatened the U.S. if the movie was released. It was the brainchild of the writing duo of Seth Rogen and Even Goldberg. James Franco played a popular celebrity interviewer and Rogen was his producer. They get to interview North Korea’s Kim Jong-un (Randall Park) and the CIA wants them to take advantage of the situation and kill the Korean leader. This is akin to asking two little children to do advanced math. That’s also the source of the comedy. You know the two are hapless fools so you want to see how badly they can screw things up.
The intelligence of Franco and Rogen is shown at the start when the CIA ask them to kill Kim. The CIA officer says the Agency wants them to take out the Korean leader and the two are confused. Did that mean taking Kim out on a date, taking him to a nightclub or what?
Park turns out great in his role. He plays Kim like a crazed fan of the West who likes to party. He and Franco for instance discuss Katie Perry.
There are some really funny moments in the movie. That comes from the fact that Goldberg and Rogen are a good duo especially when they don’t focus upon Rogen being a man child all the time. That makes this movie much better than I was expecting.

James Franco and Seth Rogen excel not only at being comedians but also at being serious actors. This show is at times very funny, and at times very serious. The actor who plays Kim Jong-un is simply brilliant. I really enjoyed this movie. The movie's subject matter is very relevant. The fact that the North Korean government unsuccessfully tried to get this movie from not being shown in the West is an additional reason to see this movie. The controversy generated by the North Korean government will motive people to watch this movie so that they can decide for themselves why the North Korean government would be against the screening of this movie.

The most Controversial movie of 2014 comes home on blu-ray! For those of you hoping for the greatest movie ever let me clue you in on something.
1. Massive controversy, doesn't make for a great film ( This Movie is made by the guys who are responsible for the movies i mentioned in my headline so set those expectations to well... those types of expectations)
2. If you were never really a fan of the previous films this isn't going to convert you at all.
This film i thought was really funny, and beautifully shot, seriously, the cinematagraphy is awesome, James franco and Seth Rogen are wonderful together their chemistry is just dynamite, Randall Park is also really funny as "Kim Jung un" ( i hope i spelled that right) for me the movie a Hilarious ride, but once they arrived in North Korea i could not stop laughing! There are too many scenes to mention, like the scene between Rogen and the tiger, Kim and Dave partying and when the Dave Skylark Interview happens, its amazing! It was funny it was suspenseful and really tense i really enjoyed this movie.

I really tried to watch this movie. I made it through about 15 minutes.
This thing is the new epitome of suck. The producers have managed to collect everything that is horrible about pretty much every movie that has been released in this century, and jammed it into this pile of feces. Good job.
I want my 15 minutes back.

One reviewer said this was for the under 30's. I disagree, it's for the under 14's. Coupled with the fact that it's juvenile it's also so badly written that you know exactly what is going to happen next all the way through. And I'm someone who rarely predicts correctly who the murderer is in 'whodunnit' films, so if I knew what was coming next it's got to be bad.
My husband managed 45 minutes of this film before giving up, I ploughed on til the end. And regretted doing so. A dreadful film that could have been good given the subject matter.

A Moderately funny film that makes some very accurate notes on North Korea, needless to say it was
not quite what I expected, they could have done more with it. But still it's just a bit of fun hence why
the north Korean government hated it, it's just a bit of fun.

Not all that hilarious, but light hearted and watchable. Some of the scenes presented as comedy, actually happen in Pyongyang, such as fake shops for instance.

Franco and Rogen at their best, 'The Interview' is a drug fuelled, obscene and witty third finger, waving unapologtically in the direction of the world's fattest dictator!
