Adam Heath Avitable (1977-) is a comedian and a humorist from the Orlando area. He has been writing online since 1999 at Avitable.com and performing stand-up comedy since 2011.

His writing has been honored by the blogging community on multiple occasions and he has spoken and lectured on writing and humor throughout the United States. He was voted one of 2010's hottest bloggers and subsequently appeared in the 2010 Hot Blogger Calendar. He'll probably keep telling people that until he's dead.

Adam is also a lawyer who has never practiced law, but this doesn't stop him from providing completely erroneous and unsolicited legal advice to anyone within earshot. He got his Juris Doctorate from Washington University in Saint Louis and it's only slightly more useful than his Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies from Washington and Lee University, which he uses to try to seduce cute Japanese girls visiting Orlando. If you're a fan of the Avitable blog or just Avitable himself, this book won't let you down. Full of wit and sarcasm, anyone who has previously enjoyed the "Interviews" section of Avitable.com will be thrilled to reread some old favorites and experience some new laughs.

I especially love that this book is broken into individual segments that make it easy to pick and choose who you want to read about. You can sit and read the entire book straight through or you can jump around as much as you want. It's not easy to find good Kindle books, but not only do you get a TON of content for the price, you also get to enjoy a book that is formatted correctly and easy to read on any device.

There are only three things guaranteed in life. You will be required to pay taxes, at some point you will die, but before that you will laugh your ass off at this book filled with posthumous humor!

While you may see other reviews citing this book as irreverent, or funny, or even on the cutting edge of after world journalism, I'd prefer to highlight it as an easy read, consumable in small bites if needbe or big bites if desired, while maintaining its laugh out loud potency the entire way through.

Looking forward to the sequels!

I downloaded Adam Avitable's Interviews with Dead Celebrities for free -- and I still feel like he owes me money back for the time I wasted reading it. The fake interviews are extremely short, which is their only redeeming characteristic. They are also tasteless, unimaginative, uninteresting and not even remotely funny. There isn't even any shock value, unless you consider bad puns and faked ignorance to be shocking. I guess they were meant to be satirical, but satire only works if a) you're funny, and b) you have a point to make. These have neither.

If you're thinking of buying this book, save your money. If you're thinking of getting it for free, save your time. If you're Adam Avitable, save us all from twaddle like this book. And if you're me, you just saved room on your Kindle by deleting it.

As on new to the blog style of Adam Heath Avitable this book came as a surprise. First, one wonders how can it be funny to have interviews with dead celebrities, especially ones who are very recently deceased, or who are icons of the American public. But spend a little time with this interviews - in question and answer format and accompanied by photographs of the interviewees - and quickly discover just how clever and smart is Avitable.

In this book he interviews a broad range of people (form beyond the grave of course) ranging form Lucille Ball, Heath Ledger, Adolf Hitler, Ronald Regan, Brittany Murphy, Jack Kevorkian, Marilyn Monroe, Mark Twain, Farrah Fawcett, Amy Winehouse, Martin Luther King, Jr., Jack LaLanne, Michael Jackson, an inordinately one-sided interview with JD Salinger known for being a silent recluse, to Steve Jobs, Diana Princess of Wales, Patrick Swayze (with a funny translation of his name!) and more.

At times it is difficult to judge which is funnier (and sicker) - the question from Avitable or the at times wholly inappropriate response from the dead interviewee. To enjoy this book you have to be in the right mindset: no, reading this book will put you in the right mindset to look at the world from a different vantage and laugh your head off! First of all, I'm a little ticked off that I bought this book a few days before it was offered free during a promotion. Seems unfair to me. I blame Dick Cavett.

Second of all, this book is funny. So funny, in fact, that I am weighing the possibility of murdering some celebrities just so the author can have enough material for a sequel. Of course, if I were to do that I would expect a shout out in the acknowledgments.

Buy it. You won't be sorry.

I absolutely loved this book! Hilarious! I can't remember the last time I read a book and actually laughed out loud to myself. It confused the heck out of my dog, resulting in lots of unnecessary barking. It was totally worth it though.

Adam Avitable has a wonderful ability to make you both laugh and think. This book is a series of his supposed "interviews" with dead celebrities, and many of them are laugh-out-loud funny. I found a few of them moving too, in their own special way (for example, the interview with Corey Haim). Adam deftly mixes humor (he is a stand up comedian, among many other things) with message. Interviews With Dead Celebrities is a quick, playful, meaningful read, and I recommend it highly.

Although the idea and concept of the book is very odd,I was very dissappointed with most of the subject matter which were of so called American celebs that I had never heard of.However the few that I had heard of were mildly amusing,in a nutshell though i'm glad this was a free book as I would be really annoyed had I actually had to pay for it.
