The IReTV USB IR Receiver is designed and built to work with F-TV (Some versions require a USB Y Cable), Nvidia Shield-2nd Generation consoles (1st Gen and Pro versions do not require an add-on IR receiver), Media Center and MCE related apps as well as Kodi on a PC and Kodi on Raspberry Pi. This IR Receiver works only with Inteset INT422-3 & Harmony remotes (Remote NOT included). Some older INT422-3 remotes will need to be updated to control F-TV. To install the IReTV IR Receiver using the INT422-3 remote, just plug the USB connector into the port on the device you want to control and enter the Device Code for that device in one of the available Device Code buttons (A, B, C, D) at the top of the remote. You can then use the other device buttons for your TV, Cable box etc. We have provided a Key Map for these devices above or you can view the map on our web site. The INT422-3 Device Codes are: 02049 (F-TV), 01272 (Media Center), 02000 & 01272 (Kodi on a PC & Kodi on Raspberry Pi) and 04918 (Nvidia Shield). For Harmony 650 choose Microsoft Xbox 360 as the device when setting up, it works for the IReTV same IR codes. The transport controls (play, pause, skip, etc), the power button, up/down, left/right arrows, OK button works perfectly. You need to remap a few buttons.
Harmony FireStick remote. Command (from XBOX 360)
Exit button Back B
Menu Button Menu/Options Y
Guide button Home Xbox Guide (not Guide command).
I used the XBOX 360 IR codes to control the Cube with my MX900 (I think this will work with Logitech also). I had to switch from ethernet to wifi to make the IReTV work. Inteset said they are trying to find a way to use ethernet.
In the meantime all the Fire TV Cube Remote commands work great (except of course the microphone button) and I am so happy I found this product.
You'll need this cable (or similar) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CXAC1ZW/ to daisy chain the IReTV device into the USB power connections. As an aside, I was also able to chain the genuine Amazon ethernet adapter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074TC662N/ successfully with the same Fire TV.
I couldn't be happier to be able to not have to buy a new universal remote. And my beautiful wife wasn't crabby about learning a whole new remote layout. Win-win!
