The Raised Downy Queen Airbed from Intex
The new and improved Dura-Beam Series version of the renowned Raised Downy Airbed offers ideal comfort and durability, thanks to the Fiber-Tech construction.
The inner beam construction is comprised of thousands of high-strength polyester fibers. Unlike traditional vinyl beam construction, the polyester fibers used in our Fiber-Tech construction do not stretch over time. These fibers provide you with durability and comfort that are superior to that of a traditional airbed, providing a quiet, comfortable night's sleep.
New horizontal beam construction supplements the benefits of the Fiber-Tech construction, providing additional support, comfort and firmness.
High-Power, Built-In AC Electric Pump
The built-in pump makes inflation and deflation simple. At full power, the airbed inflates in under 5 minutes. The pump plugs into any standard 110-120V home outlet and can be turned on with just the touch of a button for maximum convenience. However, if you want to use the bed for travel, a separate pump can also be used to inflate the bed; simply insert the nozzle of your separate pump into the center of the inflation dial while it is set to inflate, and begin inflating.
The Raised Downy Airbed is engineered with dual chamber construction: the lower chamber functions as the box spring form on a traditional bed, providing extra firmness and support while the upper chamber functions as a mattress. Plush, waterproof flocking covers the mattress top for a luxurious feel to provide a cozy night's sleep. As a part of the Dura-Beam series of airbeds, the Raised Downey Airbed is engineered with Fiber-Tech Construction, which is comprised of thousands of high-strength polyester fibers, this airbed provides enhanced comfort, stability, and support. Unlike traditional airbed construction, high-strength polyester fibers do not stretch over time, resulting in superior and long-lasting durability. The resulting surface is comfortable and secure, whether you're sleeping at the in-laws' overcrowded house or setting up a guest bed in the basement. In addition, the Raised Downy Airbed is remarkably easy to inflate thanks to the built-in, high-powered electric pump; quickly and easily inflate both chambers with the touch of a switch. Then adjust to any level of firmness for the ultimate in comfort. The airbed inflates in about 4 and 1/2 minutes and deflates completely for travel and storage. No more fussing with tiring hand or foot pumps or rummaging through the garage for your detached electric pump. An indentation on the side helps grip fitted sheets so you can feel comfortable in the bedspread you already have.

The inclusion of the built in pump is invaluable. It is quicker, quieter, and SO much easier than using my separate pump (also Intex). It took around 3 minutes to fully inflate and after that, as per the instructions, I did have to go back to it 2 or 3 times over the next 48 hours to top it off as the material stretched out to it's final form. What I was left with though was a sturdy, firm but not too firm, mattress that is as comfortable as many conventional mattresses I've slept on.
My microfiber sheets fit easily on it without bunching up like they did on the single height air mattress and they stayed in place for the most part. Deflation is just as easy as inflation as the built in pump has a reverse. Even with every last molecule of air drained out it is still a little difficult to get folded up small enough to get inside the included storage bag. The bag isn't the highest quality and stored mine in an extra duffel bag I had lying around instead. I received rave reviews from our guest who used it for 3 nights (plus a couple of naps) and am so glad I upgraded!.
Two caveats: I agree with the suggestion to cover the mattress with a blanket before putting on a fitted sheet. I didn't do this the first two days; adding a fleece blanket under the fitted sheet made the bed much more comfortable. Also, be sure the bed is not touching any furniture. If it touches a piece of furniture, the bed will squeak every time you change positions. Bottom line: Good deal, good bed!
Update: found out the pump also deflate this big bed. Recommended.
