OMG I don’t even know what to say about this book. Once again, Aleatha Romig has totally mind fooked me. I am not always a fan of thrillers, mysteries or suspense, but I love this author and wanted to give this one a go. My god this one got me from the start. I couldn’t put it down and I was questioning everything- I thought I had a lot figured out then that 99% mark hit and I was wrong. WRONG. I still can’t get over how wrong I was and how shocked I am by that ending! This one has really threw me for a loop! I feel traumatized by this new knowledge I have and I’m not sure how I’m going to wait four more months to get closure!

The Light is a story that primarily follows three pov’s. Stella’s, Sara’s, and Jacob’s. Stella is a reporter who is breaking ground on a story about a cult like church called ‘The Light’. She is also trying to find leads on her missing best friend and fellow reporter, Molly. Sara is a girl who lost her memory and woke up from a terrible accident not knowing who she was or where she was. Jacob is Sara’s husband and they are followers of The Light. Yep. That’s all you’re getting from me about this story. Do yourself a favor and read it without any spoilers or too in-depth reviews, because you really want to get the full impact at the end!

When I read the last chapter of this book, I got the tingles going down my spine and my stomach plummeted. I actually paused the book and messaged a friend who had already read because I couldn’t believe it. I just finished the book and I think I’m still in shock. This book surprised me in the best way. It made me question everything and crave more.

Aleatha Romig has an incredible imagination and a way with words. Her stories are always so complex and wonderfully written.

I thoroughly enjoy reading dark psychological thrillers, but there’s something about cults that really makes me uncomfortable. I put my complete faith in author Aleatha Romig when I began reading her first traditionally published novel – Into the Light – and I quickly became 100% invested in her story about a cult. Into the Light is the first part of a duology, with Away from the Dark coming out in just a few short months. And thank goodness for that – because days later, I still can’t get this story out of my head!

The plot of Into the Light is twofold, as Aleatha Romig alternates her story between Sara, Jacob and Stella’s first person points of view. Sara Adams awakens in a hospital bed with no eyesight and no memory whatsoever of what came before. She’s injured and completely dependent upon Jacob Adams, a husband she cannot remember. A husband who has complete responsibility for her actions and care.

Stella Montgomery is an investigative journalist who works for WCJB in Detroit. Her best friend and coworker Mindy has disappeared. In fact, there’s been a rash of women who have disappeared from the Detroit area. Stella is on a mission to find out who or what is behind their disappearances – and to find and bring her friend home.

Aleatha Romig has once again crafted another meticulously detailed story. Into the Light is a dark psychological thriller/mystery that I think will appeal to the curiosity of most readers. Clues can be found throughout this novel, and if you are not paying close attention when you read it, you may miss important indicators as to what is taking place. I’ve read Romig’s Infidelity and Consequences series, and I’m quite familiar with her modus operandi.

Its 10 Gold Stars, its A 2016 Best Book for sure!
Well if this is your first book by Aleatha Romig than you got Aleatha’d just like the rest of us! BAM I got hit Hard! So what does it mean to get Aleatha’d, well in the best words I can say on here you are seriously taken from point A) to point B) without ever knowing how in the heck it happened in just a few simple pages, she is truly that Good, no not Good not even Great, she is Excellent! She is a true writer and now that she has a few books behind her oh my goodness the words are just jumping off the pages, that’s how good, she is Right up with all the other "Great Writers" and she deserves it with this Winner! She can twist a tale that can take you places in your mind that you are unsure you even want to go to, but you just cannot help yourself, you have to go because you just cannot stop, you HAVE to go there! The “feels” that she can make you have is just compared to having Giant Goosebumps all over your Body and then it turns into a slick body sweat that follows! It’s that good, I am serious this book is That Good no it’s not Good it is Excellent, this writing is Excellent! It is deserving of awards!

So in the Blurb we learn that Sara Adams wakes up and doesn’t remember who she is, who her husband is, what her life has been and that she is blind! Since she cannot see she can’t even rely on her sight to help her memory. But she finds that in this blindness she becomes aware of other things, sounds, voices and seems to be able to get in tune with all these things and finding that she has to try and figure things out, to live in this place that seems foreign to her but to everyone else it’s a normal life.
