Editorial Reviews

L.P. is an incredible artist and songwriter from New York City now living in L.A. Now signed to Warner Bros. Records, she has created a strong buzz in the LA music scene playing sold-out residencies at the Soho House and Sayers Club. With a unique and powerful voice, she has been described as a mix of Jeff Buckley, Florence + The Machine and Janis Joplin, yet has a style and sound all her own. In today's crowded musical landscape, LP stands out as a real artist with meaningful music. She can only truly be described through the sound of her music.

OK, I admit I never had heard of this group before until I heard their song "Into the Wild" on a commercial on TV (the lady climbing the massive rock formation and then standing on the top of it). I did some research and found out that the group is named LP. I decided to order their new CD/DVD. I just got it today and my first response is WOW! Where has this group been? They are awesome. The lead vocalist has a great and unique voice. The instrumentation includes cellos and violins along with classic rock 'n roll instruments. The DVD is of a live concert. The video quality is fantastic (almost HDTV quality). The sound quality is superb. The music is great! I would highly recommend this DVD/CD combo! I can't believe it is so inexpensive. I am really happy with this purchase!

I too first heard of LP after trying to figure out why that song on the Citibank commercial made me want to go climb a mountain too. Found out about LP and ordered this CD. They are really a musical breath of fresh air. Enjoyed the entire album, but my favorites are Tokyo Sunrise and Wasted Love...they pack the same awe-inspiring power as Into the Wild. Hope to hear more and more from this group.

LP's evolution from blossoming songstress spreading her wings to seasoned live performer with exceptional lyrics and soaring voice treats the listener to a glimpse into the amazing. Like watching Michelangelo go from ink sketches to the Sistine Chapel. Awe inspiring!!!

This CD/DVD of LP, Laura Pregolizzi, and the band LP, is short, about 22 minutes with 5 songs. The live concert is a gem, a perfect event to show case her talent. She is one of those singers that should of been discovered years ago. LP co-wrote all songs on this disc (She has been writing songs for Joe Walsh, Rihanna, and others.)

"Into The Wild" was featured in Citibank's national television ad campaign with rock climber Katie Brown pursuing "the rock she really wanted" as LP sings "Someone left the gate open".

This is LP, a voice --the voice from a small women. Her voice has been around for ten years is emerging from 2 past bands Lionfish and Cracker. Finally getting the menu for her Operatic Rock-Blues talent. Her voice HER VOICE WILL MELT YOU! She whistles on Into The Wild and plays the ukulele, but it is voice that carries you. She is compared to the Queens of Rock in both voice and looks to Janis Joplin, Pat Benatar, Melissa Etheridge, Anne Wilson.. but trust me she is unique.

Like a lot of people, I first heard LP on the Citibank commercial, googled to find out what the song was, and was instantly hooked. What an original talent- she is independent and incredibly creative rather than plug-and-play commercial, and I plan on continuing to support her...hopefully will be able to see the band live one of these days!

...That it only has five songs! LP is AMAZING. Her voice blows me away. Sometimes I forget this is LIVE until the end of the song when I hear the audience. She's on Adele's level and hopefully she'll be as known/popular as Adele soon. LP deserves so much credit. Probably one of the most underrated artists out there right now.

A n u n p a r a l l e l e d v o i c e,

accompanied by a top-notch band.

LP has been compared to many of the "greats,"

most aptly, perhaps, to Janis Joplin (whom I adore, R.I.P.).

LP has more control of her instrument, however… really, you have not heard ANYTHING like her before.

Sophisticated songs that run the emotional and musical gamut.

Stunning premier by a one-of-a-kind talent.

#3 album of 2012 in "The Village Voice" Critic's Choice Awards [...]

Her performances on the summer music festival tour of 2012 were consistently met with effusive praise from reviewers and ecstatic responses from audiences.

Beauty and brains, heart and soul.

A breath of fresh air in a rather stale period for popular music.

Buy it!

I'm glad to add my 5 stars to the reviews already posted here. This is great stuff, and a sure-fire winner if you are at all into good indy rock, with a "big-but-still-intimate" feel to it. LP has going for her:
- A great, acrobatic voice
- A great band
- Great songs on this EP
- Great recording quality.
To be honest, I found her voice a little shrill and irritating at first, but I was quickly won over. This is just darn good stuff from every angle--buy it soon!
