First of all, the paper is incredibly thin and of fairly low quality, about one step up from news print. It is so susceptible to water damage that my book actually arrived, new, with one end of it slightly wrinkled from exposure to moisture on the shelf or during shipping. While I appreciate that this is a specialty item and that increasing the quality of the paper would have significantly increased the cost of the book, it would have been worth it. You literally have to keep it in plastic bag and handle it carefully with bone dry hands if you don't want to damage it.
Secondly, the small size of the book is a double-sword. The charts are not to proper scale (although they are all the same scale, which makes translation easier), which means using them for actual navigation less than straightforward. Also, since they are reduced, some markers on them are virtually impossible to read.
The book is useful to a degree and has it's place in your arsenal of information for planning and executing a trip along the ICW, but really only as a tool for general planning. It's the only source that I know that provides a sequential, portable collection of the charts for the entire ICW. So it's good to refer to at the end of the day when you're planning your next few days travel, but as a serious tool for navigation, or something that you can keep in the cockpit, it has some serious drawbacks.
It offers good information on selected inlets.
Thanks for putting together such a nice chart book.
