About the Author
Michael R. Brown heads the Music Department at the Mississippi State University in Starkville. A native Georgian, he holds undergraduate degrees from Emmanuel College and Berry College, and his master’s and doctorate in music education from the University of Georgia. Prior to his work at MSU, he chaired the Division of Fine Arts at Indiana Wesleyan University and was Director of Bands at Augusta State University and Truett-McConnell College in Georgia. He also served as principal trumpet in the Augusta Symphony Orchestra as well as numerous other professional orchestras and ensembles. He has held several professional conducting posts, currently serving as Music Director of the Starkville Symphony Orchestra.--This text refers to the CD-ROM edition.
