Dairy Sensitivity? WAIT TO START!

If your baby has shown a dairy sensitivity wait until 6 months to start! My 4.5 month old has had a dairy sensitivity while breastfeeding, though we thought it would be okay to start this since I have started to slowly have more dairy and he didn’t spit up a ton. After two days we saw an increase of spit up and have decided to pause and wait a little longer to introduce this product. Our ped said that typically babies with dairy sensitivity will be ready for it at six months so we’ll wait until then but have decided to start with other non-dairy items.

Good idea if baby will eat it - mine wouldn't

I loved this idea but nothing I couldn't find anything my daughter would eat this in. I tried again and cold milk, warm and cold water, applesauce, yogurt, etc. These are all things she usually loves, but as soon as I added this she would eat a bite or two (or a sip or two) and refuse to take anymore. I don't know if it was a flavor or texture thing, but I wasn't able to get her to take enough of this to see how it worked.

I'll keep trying because I can't return the packets, but for now think I'll have better luck giving her real food (eggs, peanut butter mixed with breast milk, yogurt, etc.). If I find something she eats this in I'll update my review.

Update: we were able to get our daughter to eat/drink some of this when we got to the packets that have peanut in them. Apparently there was enough of the peanut flavor to entice her. I still rate this three stars because it is hard to get her to take it.

My daughter had a strong reaction to the egg white powder. Actually, I don't think it is safe for infants to have egg whites before age 1. I wish I looked more into the research behind this product and will not be using unless there are more unbiased scientific studies to back up their claims of allergy prevention. It is an interesting concept and may seem to work well for some parents, but does it actually reduce allergies? -not sure. Anyway this product is not for us and we will talk to our pediatrician about other routes of allergy introduction. The box also came damaged, so I wonder if it had been returned.

Love the concept of this if it actually works. My only complaint is that I wish there were more of each day. Sometimes my baby randomly decides she either doesn’t want that bottle or doesn’t finish it. I feel like some packets are going to waste so I’m wondering if I should buy more.
