This book is amazing at diving into the mind of Nicola Tesla in his own words. The illustrations are his works also. The man was brilliant even compared to todays standard of education. With that being said, unless you have a good understanding of electrical engineering this book my be a little to complicated. The contents of this book are the lectures giving by Nicola Tesla to groups of engineers. So that would be the intended audience of this work. And that should be known up front as I have shown some of the drawings to seasoned elctricains and they where baffled at his wiring illustrations.

This is a very detailed technical writing of Tesla's major inventions, and it was published in 1894 by Electrical Engineer Magazine. If you want to really dig into the essence of Tesla's inventions this is an good source. So is "The Complete Patents of Nikola Tesla" ISBN 1-56619-266-8 published 1994. The number of contributions he made to technology is incredible! This man was truly amazing and probably the greatest genius of all time. It's too bad he was such an eccentric and failed to share more of his work with his peers. Had this happened our world would probably be far more advanced technologically. But the works he did share drastically changed the world for the better. He is finally beginning to get the credit he is due. If he could have appropriately financed his endeavors, there is no telling what might have transpired.

Tesla.

This is a book to treasure. It is also one with contents at which to wonder. It is concerned with Tesla's work in the latter part of the 19th century and this date makes the contents all the more remarkable. Again, when read in conjunction with John J. O'Neill's book, 'Prodigal Genius', it raises enormous questions which should interest and intrigue any enquiring scientist. Did Tesla really achieve all that is claimed? Where are his papers and who controls all those patents? Why did so many receive Nobel Prizes for discoveries claimed to have been made by Tesla decades earlier? Yes; a truly fascinating read but one which, in some ways, leaves more questions unanswered than answered.

This takes one back to days in the back of the garage, fiddling with gadgets, taking short-cuts only to be near electrocuted etc. Worth a space of time to glance at, -in the back of the garage.

Annoyed that this does not contain diagrams

The writing throughout makes reference to diagrams which are not contained in the book. I went on to buy the kindle edition which does for 1.99.
Impossible to make sense of the writing otherwise
This has been a waste of money
