I found the writing as witty as some of the characters. Kenyon approached this book with a sense of humor and satire that I think really fits her leading man. She really captures an innocence, curiosity, and attitude with Nick that make you want him to succeed.Read more ›
I want to know more about adult Nick, Simi, Acheron, Kyrian, Amanda, Tabby, etc.
This ends in a cliff hanger. I wish I would have known that before reading. I would have waited to read it.
If you read the first and loved it, then you will probably enjoy the book. If you were like me and frustrated with the lack of progression, the book will irritate you like it did me.
The back story just keeps getting better. I love the coach trying to blackmail Nick because everyone thinks Nick is a loser kid who wears ugly Hawaiian shirts. The love interest of two different girls (the cheerleader, and the popular smart girl) is handled well, and fits with what I see in boys and girls of that age. Nick' Mom still annoys me, but since they love each other so much it makes up for the headache I get every time I read Sherri not trusting her son. I love New Orleans and the bits and pieces of the real city Ms. Kenyon throws in are fun. So great book. Great series.
