Purchase options and add-ons
When a scientist uses his skills in medicine to find a way to change the refractive index of bodies to match that of air, he learns the secret of invisibility. After trying his experiment on a cat, the scientist, known as Griffin in the town, decides to run the experiment on himself and, upon its success, soon finds his life dramatically altered in ways he could never imagine.
In an attempt to cover his tracks, Griffin burns his lab and the evidence of his dangerous experiments. Yet, the townspeople have already noticed some strange happenings, and the police are alerted to the danger. Griffin soon finds out that he was poorly equipped to handle life in his new invisible form, and resorts to a life of crime in an effort to survive. Committing theft to pay his rent, and even killing one who would dare to try to stop him, Griffin finds himself starkly alone in the world and struggling to survive.
After a new assistant and a former medical school classmate pretend to help but then turn against him, Griffin plots to take his revenge. How will the Invisible Man fare in a world unprepared for his brand of terror?

- Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2020I enjoyed the science behind the invisibility, it was pretty interesting. The idea that our world is an illusion of light. I thought that was a fascinating way to look at the world.
The book was formated great!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2023Not too small or not too big. However, the words do get a bit close to the middle of the book so you have to really open the book up to read those words.

I am always nervous when I order an edition of a book because I don't want something with tiny font. This has a great sized font. Also the paper has good feel not overly cheap feeling. The book itself was short and unique. I hadn't read this classic before
