It is a plug adaptor. Pretty simple stuff.
It will permit you to plug a different style plug into a UK / Hong Kong (etc.) outlet. That is all it will do.
It will NOT convert any voltage, so if your device is not compatible with the local voltage & AC cycle frequency of the outlet, your device will break & it is your fault. Check the device specs before using it & if the input voltage is compatible, then you are good to go.
Things I like (a lot) the live & return legs are the better design - the plastic extends down them part way that prevents fingers slipping & bridging between them when inserting into the outlet. UK outlets have a slider on the ground that holds the live & neutral closed with tamper resistant shutters before the ground is inserted. The better plugs have the plastic over moulding on these 2 legs to prevent accidents. These have that feature which shows more attention to detail than the cheaper ones. That lone is a high selling point for me.
