This was a delightful romance with its ups and downs before reaching the HFN ending. Since this is the first of a trilogy I imagine we will see more of this couple in the following stories. The storyline is well developed, with interesting characters. The narrative flows easily, changing POVs between the H & h. I recommend this as a quick sweet and appealing read!
I am voluntarily providing an honest, unbiased review of an ARC of this book. I also purchased a copy of this book.
Amelia has had a troubled past by men. She makes a decision to leave New York to visit Ireland. Something happens and her plans turn for the worst, until a sexy Rory comes along.
I'm so excited to see more from these characters. The chemistry is out this world hot.
Amelia finds herself on a plane to Ireland to meet what might be the one. But she gets a surprise when she knocks on his door. Why does she seem to always pick the wrong men? When she is drowning her broken heart at a local pub, a young good-looking man sits beside her. She wants this man to talk to her, unlike the older men who wanted to buy her a drink. After all, they were old enough to be her father and grandfather. She texts her sister about the hottie that sits beside her and Claire tells her she needs a little fun and to enjoy herself.
Rory is looking for a little peace and quiet, a little time a local pub might get his creative juices flowing again. When he sits beside the pretty girl at the bar, he wonders if she will recognize him. He finds himself wanting to spend more time with Amelia and wants her to see his homeland. Maybe that will change her perception of Ireland and show her that not all men are the same.
While Rory and Amelia roam around parts of Ireland and he takes her to his parents home, they become close and both are beginning to have feelings for each other. Amelia can’t have another relationship that will end before it gets started. So she leaves before he wakes up without leaving him anyway to contact her.
Will Rory find Amelia when he visits New York? Will Amelia regret leaving Rory without leaving him a way to contact her? Can they make a relationship work when they both live in different countries?
I love everything about Ireland and when I read the title, I knew I had to read this one. I am so glad I did and I can’t wait for the next one.
**A copy of this book was provided by the author and this is my honest review**
She's disenheartentened by betrayals... Over & Over again it's the losers that attract & attach themselves to her!
Even through Online dating She's plagued with a liar leaving her stranded in Ireland without the promising Romance she sought...
Until she meets a handsome stranger who, unbeknownst to her, is playing incognito with her...
He's famous & hating the trappings that go with it, especially when it comes to Women... Just ONCE, cannot someone like him for HIM!
Seems he's finally found the ONE; at least he thought so until he woke to cold sheet & no deets!! Guess he's been played for a fool & left looking like a tool!
Meanwhile, an Ocean away, Remorse is there to stay... She Totally regrets running out on the Irish hunk she's nuts about...
I was granted an ARC of Amanda Heartley's "Irish Affair (The Claddagh Trilogy Book 1)" via Booksprout; I thoroughly enjoyed this book, & find Amanda to be a talented writer. I'm looking forward to the next installment of this series. I definitely recommend this book to others based upon its own merits. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given!
Until next time... Happy Reading!
This is an entertaining, funny, and sexy love story. Rory and Amelia are very cute together. Rory Maguire is the perfect swoon-worthy book boyfriend. Rory's and Amelia's sisters are funny bonus characters. It is a fast paced and heartwarming story with misunderstandings, trust and love and lots of hot sexy times.
When Amelia travels from New York to Dublin to surprise her online date/friend Gareth, it doesn't go as planned. But when she met a handsome stranger in a pub while drowning her sorrows, she enjoyed her time in Ireland. Amelia was a little bit too crazy and spontaneous for my taste but Rory admired her spontaneity and guts. Their relationship developed fast until Amelia got scared and ran off.
The plot is fresh and well written and the story line makes you root for a beautiful HEA all the way through. I enjoyed the story very and can hardly wait to read book 2 about Ben and Rory's sister.
