I ordered this statue as a decorative piece for the home theater room I am redoing in my house. This is one of three statues I now have from Kotobukiya, and I remain impressed. The statue captures the excellent details of the Mark II suit as seen in the original Iron Man movie with Robert Downey Jr. Each detail, from the individual armor plates and individually sculpted fingers, down to the tiny rivets holding the suit together, is present and accounted for. The paint job is a metallic silver paint with some subtle black accents to make individual armor plates or other pieces of the statue stand out a bit better. There are minor blemishes in the paint (for example you can see tiny pieces of debris that likely got caught in the paint as it dried) as well as some brush strokes, but none of this detracts from the overall look.
The statue is constructed of cold cast porcelein, providing a sturdy weight and feel that lends a great feeling of "high quality" to the piece. It appears that it is actually made of a couple of different pieces ( I.e. the base, torso, arms and legs) that were assembled together into a single, solid statue. Even the base seems to be made of porcelein, as it is heavy and solid as well. Because of the material of construction, be aware this statue is definitely breakable. A fall from even a moderate height might be enough to crack through a significant portion of the statue, so be careful.
The light up feature of the statue is stand out. The lights are bright, and of a cool blue hue, and really add a second dimension to the statue that other, similar statues lack. The statue is also a limited edition (2500, I believe) and comes individually number along the bottom.
I highly recommend this statue to any collector, but again realize this is NOT a toy, and is best kept away from the younger crowd.
