This is a very fun read. I read through it so quick because its so engaging and fun. I love the use of many forgotten characters in this one. The art is spectacular, you can tell the artist is having fun with this one.
One of the best iron man stories I’ve read in a while the last one I really enjoyed was the infamous iron man and Stark unlimited run though I thought infamous iron was way better I like the back to basics theme and mid life crisis iron man is having I like to see more stories like this in the iron man series soon
If you are a fan of the superhero Iron Man, this is a nice comic series to start reading. The art is stylish throughout and delves into the character of Tony Stark.
While I’m not thrilled by the direction of the story, not a fan of erasing all the personal growth Tony has made over the years and making him the self-obsessed, old Tony Stark again, anyway the artwork is gorgeous and dynamic and I’d read it just for the art.
I blasted through this book in one sitting so that's something, right?
On the plus side, the art in here is fantastic. HUGE draw. If the next volume has art by Cafu, I'm in. The armored suit is great. I love that it's based off the Classic Red and Gold but still looks modern. Big fan.
On the negative side, we're back to a navel gazing Tony Stark. The wonderful cast of characters from the previous series are dropped. One thing that really makes Iron Man great is his various cast of character which at its BEST is second only to Spider-Man's cast. Both Iron Man and Spider-Man lose a lot when it's just the main character and maybe one or two side characters. This book is essentially Tony and Hellcat dealing with Tony trying to find himself. Again. I mean, I get it. Tony is a whole bunch of ego and he's not doing well but this is so mid-life crisis and makes it look like the whole world hates him. There's no triumphant moment where he gets his crap together and just the bare minimum of him realizing that his own feelings of self-worth trump those of everyone else. It's kind of depressing and ends on a downer.
Stark Unlimited is dropped which is a damn shame because Stark goes through companies WAY too fast. Tony as a successful businessman is a lot more interesting to me than as a rich guy struggling to connect to reality.
In short, I loved the art and disliked the story. I'll probably still be down for the next volume because I'm a huge Tony Stark fan but I really hope this mid-life crisis bit isn't the crux of this entire series and that Iron Man gets his act together sooner rather than later. Because six issues of THIS is already treading close to my tolerance limits.
I won't lie when I say this: I was pulling this book monthly initially for the Alex Ross covers. Iron Man is one of, if not my favorite, characters that Alex Ross draws/paints. However, I wouldn't have thought that the story and interior artwork would be as good as it is. Christopher Cantwell nails the voice of Tony Stark and his supporting cast. Hellcat is a surprise addition to the supporting cast but I welcome it. But perhaps the best part of this book is the artwork of Cafu. This man has my vote for the best artist at Marvel right now. His style is very gorgeous looking and he's also really great at storytelling. Frank D'Armata's colors elevate the artwork and this is the best coloring of his career. The story is pretty grounded (even though it gets cosmic past issue five) and offers a nice looking into the head of Tony Stark and how he reacts trying to focus on being Iron Man. I'm looking forward to the future of the series.
The author felt it necessary to inject um, awake, current viewpoints and subjects Tony Stark to them as a being an overly-special person of non-color with a superiority complex. The actual language is worse and not allowed here. Ruined an otherwise good story.
Uma fase bem fraca do Homem de Ferro. A utilização de personagens secundários e um Korvac reciclado só fizeram o plot ser ainda pior. Os desenhos de Cafu são escuros e as expressões dos personagens não convencem sobre o que está sendo dito.
