Though I enjoyed the series, at times the writing seemed geared toward 8th graders. Perhaps the 8th grader in me was what responded favorably to the tale. Only when the author would delve into soft porn passages did I suspect his target audiences were adults. Then again, I'm sure 8th graders would find those passages titilating as well.
Unfortunately, the author decided to engage in shameless pandering, either to "enlighten" the great unwashed among us toward correct thinking or, to glean praise and a pat on the head from someone. In either case, the author should ask himself whether any author was ever taken seriously as a writer that littered his work with pandering.
