Now no reasonable people can argue that we are not experiencing climate change, or that the overwhelming evidence shows that human activity is at least partly responsible. But Baxter, by being so heavy-handed in his approach, adds fuel to those who might say "Oh really?" to the truth.
Too bad, since I really love Baxter's writing and imagination. As noted above it's okay, expecially for those Type A's who must finish everything they start. This was not the satisfactory conclusion I was hoping for,
The scientific knowledge is fascinating when compared with what the ancient understanding as depicted. It is easy to accept knowledge taught today as obvious forgetting what our was like before someone figured it out.
on the previous books are carried on. It is an ecological epic, after all. I am somewhat of a history buff, so I could identify some of the various cultures and civilizations in our universe, even if named differently. I was flattered that some of my speculations were confirmed by the author in the Afterword.
