Strong Hands, Healthy Hands
Step 1 — Prevention & Prehab
At IronMind, even though we live in a world where we regularly see hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds moved by human muscle in a multitude of directions, we know the wisdom and truth of an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Avoid injuries and you’ll never have downtime and you’ll never have to worry about rehabilitating them.
Step 2 — Recovery & Corrective Training
Once injured, being inert any longer than necessary only slows recovery and sometimes permanently limits the degree to which one can recover. While we are not medical professionals, we can say with certainty that we have observed this time and again.
Step 3 — Rehab & therapy
Whether preventing an injury prehabilitation or coming back from one rehabilitation, the same exercises that strengthen the target area are well suited for therapeutic purposes, too.
We would like you to be our next success story . . . regaining whatever you have lost due to hand-related discomfort and preserving your hands for years to come.
For all the work they do, your hands require ongoing general maintenance for good hand health
- ACTIVE REST - light strength work on your “off” training days
- CONDITIONING - daily exercises to keep hands limber and maintain joint mobility
- REHAB & THERAPY - treating RSI, carpal tunnel, golf or tennis elbow, trigger finger, sprains & more
For maximum strength and sparkling hand health
Expand-Your-Hand Bands are the fun, effective way to achieve muscle balance by working your extensors. They are perfect for everyone from Captains of Crush grip enthusiasts, rock climbers, guitar players, and shooters, to nonagenarians who want to keep on doing what they like to do with their hands.
Boost your strength and prevent, reduce or cure the pains associated with arthritis, overuse, abuse, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
5 Strengths, Color-coded for Progressive Levels of Resistance
The bands are graduated in strength and color-coded for quick identification
Starting with the easiest, white, then green, yellow, blue, and red, the most difficult, all you have to remember is that a thicker band is going to be tougher to stretch than a thinner band. Slip a band of appropriate strength over the tips of your fingers; most people train all five fingers at once, but you can experiment with different combinations of fingers to suit your purposes.
Generally, the bands are positioned at about the height of the base of your fingernails, but feel free to experiment. Now all you do is extend your fingers, stretching them out against the resistance provided by the band. We recommend very strict form and moderate reps, and something like 3 sets of about 12 reps is a good general purpose program.
In addition to strength gains, don't be surprised if regular use of Expand-Your-Hand Bands helps to eliminate some nagging elbow pains and prevent related overuse injuries.
Made of latex-free rubber for greater stretch, longer life.
Use them anywhere, anytime, every day: carry one in your pocket, keep a set in your car or office and another one at home.

If you are looking to build a great grip I recommend getting these, the captain of crush gripper (size T,1, and 2), and a set of fat grips. Use the gripper and bands 5 days a week, and work the fat grips into several of you pulling exercises (shrugs, curls, rows, later pull down, pull ups, ect.) Work them all together and you will see huge gains and no longer need to rely on straps.
A tip to remember: Don't go crazy using these things. Limit the number of sets that you do. I use a "pyramid" type set (10x white, 8x green, 6x yellow, 4x blue, 2x red, 4x blue, 6x yellow, 8x green, 10x white). After a set like that you will feel the exercise. I limit myself to at most two sets per day, three days per week, to make sure not to over-train the muscles.
Also, remember to "work up" to the harder colors. You can't just start with the reds and go crazy. Focus on proper form, and being able to slowly perform the rep properly. Try the colors, see where your abilities are, and figure out a routine that will help you gain strength slowly. Remember your muscles need time to rest, rebuild and recover. Don't be a hero!
If you're having shoulder surgery or some other procedure, plan ahead so you have this BEFORE you come home.
For contraction options I was pleased with:
Gripmaster Finger Exerciser, Yellow (X-Light)
Gripmaster Hand Exerciser Blue, Light Tension (5-Pounds per Finger)
Gripmaster Hand Exerciser Red, Medium Tension (7-Pounds per Finger)

Update 18Sep18: I've only had these a few days, but I really like these. I can feel a big difference in my hands already. I think activating the muscles in my hands, wrists and forearms, in a contrasting manner helps balance the grip training.
Update 6Feb2020: Since my initial purchase I have purchased more of these bands. They're only rubber bands, so they're easy to lose or misplace. I have also purchased other similar products. IMO these are the best and simplest way to work hand extensor muscles. As long as I keep losing these bands, I'll keep buying them.

They were a good size of elastic band for the intended purpose, the durability was disappointing.
