If you are looking to build a great grip I recommend getting these, the captain of crush gripper (size T,1, and 2), and a set of fat grips. Use the gripper and bands 5 days a week, and work the fat grips into several of you pulling exercises (shrugs, curls, rows, later pull down, pull ups, ect.) Work them all together and you will see huge gains and no longer need to rely on straps.
A tip to remember: Don't go crazy using these things. Limit the number of sets that you do. I use a "pyramid" type set (10x white, 8x green, 6x yellow, 4x blue, 2x red, 4x blue, 6x yellow, 8x green, 10x white). After a set like that you will feel the exercise. I limit myself to at most two sets per day, three days per week, to make sure not to over-train the muscles.
Also, remember to "work up" to the harder colors. You can't just start with the reds and go crazy. Focus on proper form, and being able to slowly perform the rep properly. Try the colors, see where your abilities are, and figure out a routine that will help you gain strength slowly. Remember your muscles need time to rest, rebuild and recover. Don't be a hero!
If you're having shoulder surgery or some other procedure, plan ahead so you have this BEFORE you come home.
