The IronMan ATIS (AB Inversion Training System) 1000 provides the additional benefit of AB training while inverting. At the same time inverting will provide effective back stretching and relaxation. The ATIS will lock at 10 different inverting angles. It has a durable oval tubing steel frame with a scratch resistant powder coated scratch resistant finish. It has a heavy nylon backrest with a Memory foam vinyl pillow for head support. The "Scale Locking System", provides easy locking adjustmensts. "Comforter" ankle holders prevent any pinch point pressure when inverting. "Smart Gear" (patent pending) locks the table in different inverting postions, one of which is a full 180 degrees. Folds for storage. Supports up to 300 lbs and has a plastic holder for a cell phone, eye glasses, wallets and othe articles while inverting.
Whether you want to reduce back stress or fatigue, stimulate your blood circulation, or work your abs, the Ironman ATIS 1000 inversion table makes a great household accessory. The inversion table contributes to your body's overall health by optimizing lumbar traction, thereby relieving pressure on your vertebrae discs and ligaments. And when your back starts to relax, the rest of your body follows. The table can also help with such areas as increasing body flexibility for improved athletic performance, reducing the effects of aging due to gravity, and relieving lower backaches due to sitting or standing.
However, the ATIS 1000 differs from other inversion tables in a couple of crucial ways. First, by virtue of its ab and core training system, the table isolates the abdominals far more effectively than bench training, letting you build and strengthen your abs daily with just a few minutes of work. And second, the table offers 10 different inversion locking angles, letting you find the perfect position for your body type and symptoms.
The ATIS 1000 is outfitted with a durable oval tubing steel frame and a heavy nylon backrest with a memory foam vinyl pillow. The backrest is tough yet durable, while the pillow provides ample head support. More importantly, the inversion system is a breeze to use: once you rest your body against the nylon backrest and slip your feet into the ergonomically molded ankle cushions, simply reach your arms over your head. As your arms go up, your body gradually inverts to the preset angle. The only inputs are your energy and gravity itself.
Users will also appreciate the tough rubber non-skid floor stabilizers, which keep the table stable while you invert, and the extra-long safety handles, which provide an easy return to an upright position. Other details include a height-adjustable frame up to 6 feet 6 inches; support for up to 300 pounds; vinyl safety side covers to protect hands and fingers; a scratch-resistant powder-coated finish; inverted, foam-dipped hand grips that provide maximum stretching while inverted; and a side holder for cell phones, eyeglasses, wallets, coins, watches, and other small items. The ATIS 1000, which folds into a compact footprint for easy storage, measures 26 by 62 by 49 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 76 pounds.

I think this product is very well designed. The locking mechanism is an unique and valuable feature. In addition, the table feels sturdy and solid overall so you won't feel insecure hanging upside down on it. The only one design flaw is the location of the headrest (as mentioned by another reviewer).
My table had a couple of defective parts - (1) the cap that covers the locking mechanism is broken; (2) the siding/ edge of the leg adjustment is chipped/ cracked; and (3) the screw/ screw hole that secures the ankle lock is loose/ cannot be tightened. Item (1) and (2) are no big deal as they are more for appearance but item (3)is very important as a loose ankle lock can lead to safety issues.
I had contacted Ironman to have part (3) replaced but they ended up shipping a wrong replacement part to me. I then submitted another request but so far (over 4 weeks) I still haven't received the new replacement part and my followup emails inquiring about the matter has been unanswered.
Finally, after using this product for a month, the locking mechanism seems to be working less smoothly for some reasons - It just feels like it might break soon....
I think this inversion table has a lot of potential and I really want to like this product. However, the workmanship/ materials/ parts seem to be questionable so I cannot recommend it (although it just might be my bad luck/ that I got a lemon.)
Only gripe, the foot restraints. By myself I can secure them and go full inverted but they're not "tight". I need someone to push down on the securing rod with their foot to get that last "click" to make them tight enough because sometimes it may cause a pinching pain on my feet if it's too loose. They should have some sort of leveraged bar to help the user get that last click themselves as you can't be on the table and get enough pressure yourself to get the job done.
All in all I would absolutely recommend this product for someone who's looking for a well built and comfortable inversion table. Just have someone handy to help you secure the foot restraints!
> High quality frame construction (although it weighs a ton, this unit is not very portable, and when folded, it is only slightly smaller than when opened.)
> Very sturdy feel, no fear of this dropping you on your head. (As long as you make sure the ankle supports are locked)
> Simple to use.
> Ankle pads don't provide enough support, you'll usually time your suspensions based on how long it takes before your ankles become sore. Wearing shoes or boots helps a lot.
> Some parts are cheap and will obviously break if mishandled.
> The ankle release lever is hard to reach if you have a bad back, so I keep a short stick nearby so I don't get trapped!
> The sheet metal screws that hold the ankle braces in place strip easily. When assembling remember..... They do not need to be tight! They are only there to keep the ankle braces from sliding back and forth! If you tighten them too much, the braces won't have free play AND you'll strip the screw holes.
If you are going to use this every day, and you are going to do inverted sit-ups and other exercises, you probably want a more expensive unit and I would HIGHLY recommend the Ratcheting Ankle Lock mechanism over the type used in this model. The ratcheting unit allows more control over the tightness around your ankles, which is especially important if you plan to use this as a fitness tool.
