Ok but only if you know what your doing....It's ok and a bit lacking in the photo section of how to. If you've never seen the consistancy of macaronage then as another reviewer said, "be prepared for a lot of disasters!" and you can see in the end of that section his macarons are like liquid (overbeaten)and would never rise. To top it off the recipe is a Swiss Meringue recipe and not the traditional egg white recipes. I wish I had known that but nowhere is it listed in the description. I don't mind, I've heard people have had success with this type of recipe and it will be interesting to try something new. And as you get to the end of the book the recipes start getting a bit exotic with a few of them with ingrediants I've never heard of! If I didn't live overseas I would return this book to Amazon but the price of shipping it back is almost as much as the book itself :(.

I must have 6 or 7 cookbooks dedicated to the "art" of macarooning, and I must say this is one of my least favorite. His recipes are okay, but if you've never made macaroons before, be prepared for lots of disasters if you use this as your bible.

A beautifully photographed book. Instructions are very clear if you want to tackle the challenge of macaroons. If you don't expect perfection the first time around, and are willing to get the feel and technique- it can be done. Very interesting flavor combinations and pretty colors. Just fun to pull out and look at with people who love to cook- better yet, a friend who wants to help you make them in the kitchen for an occasion! Gave it four stars only due to the fact you do need a bit of cooking experience and a few tools to get this right- not exactly for the novice, except for inspiration!

First of all...I LOVE Macarons! They're wonderfully satisfying, creative and display beautifully. This book is the complete book of how to make them, how to fill them and what comes next. I'm a pretty good cook and will read a cook book like a novel so it didn't intimidate me. However, the novice may find this to be too much. Oh, and spend the money to get the actual book. It's really delightful, looks great on a coffee table. The Kindle version would lose too much detail.

This is a good book and has beautiful photos, though some of the details seem to be missing. Although the recipes seem straightforward, I suggest doing some research on the internet as well and gathering as many facts as possible before jumping into baking macarons. Macarons are a very delicate and temperamental cookie to make but once the skill is mastered, there is no turning back! And the flavor combinations are endless.

Because Macaroons are so difficult to make well, the detailed instructions and ingredients found in the book are very necessary. Each receipt is easy to follow, but very detailed.
