This is actually better than I expected.

Adjustable wrenches are always problematic, with the adjusting. They usually work great when new, but then eventually, the threads wear down, and as your rotate to make the adjustment, then it locks up, and can be difficult to get it loose again to re-adjust.

This Quick Adjusting wrench is a slip, slide, and lock. Similar to the normal adjustable wrenches, it's a 1 handed operation. But here you just slip the silver tab down, and slide the head up/down to size, and then release the tab to lock in place.

The mouth opens up to 1.5" (or just barely over 37 mm).

The only downside I could see to this tool, is that the sliding mechanism does have to align to teeth (like a gear), to lock in place. I didn't measure the teeth, but I imagine it's close to 1 mm spacing. Calculating this out, this should mean about 37 different sizes, as opposed to a normal adjustable wrench, which has a rotating dial, so the regular adjustable wrench has nearly infinite positions.

I haven't had it long enough to tell if the teeth are going to wear down, or if the sliding mechanism will be faulty, but at least, I don't have the frustration of trying to rotate a dial (thread) to make an adjustment, and get the threading binded up. And Irwin products have always been excellent.

In general, this is a fine wrench. But I wouldn't buy this quick-adjusting design again. But Irwin seems to build sturdy tools.

Pros:
1. Sturdy and solid
2. Handel is easy to grab

Cons:
1. The selling feature: quick adjusting. It does a good job for "quick" adjusting coarsely. But when you want to fine-adjust, especially using one hand, it is impossible.

I would recommend this brand, but not this type of quick adjusting design.

Didn't know anything about this wrench other than the reviews it's a novel idea but these are not for heavy duty use/ because you can't fine tune these to make them tight enough /adjustable wrenches by nature will slip so 3 stars at best .
