Blog postFor the past little while I’ve been hard at work on a follow-up trilogy to the ATLAS series. I’ve been writing this military science fiction piece on the side, and finally finished the whole 220,000+ word series last week.
Titled “Alien War,” the trilogy is standalone and can be read independently of all my other works. It follows Rade and his platoon as they investigate a new threat. They have some updated toys, specifically a new breed of mech. They soon find themselves e6 years ago Read more -

Titles By Isaac Hooke
Logan Asher and his elite squad have sheltered from the machines beneath the ruins of humanity's greatest city. Their numbers continue to grow daily as refugees seek out and join them.
Unfortunately, Logan knows it's only a matter of time until the machines track them down.
The Progenitor has deserted them, and the untethering technique the man taught no longer works. Logan and his squad can no longer reprogram robots to join their army. They will have to make do with what they have as Logan and the last remnants of humanity plot their final assault against their robot overlords.
Unfortunately, the machines strike first.
World War R 3: it's time for humanity to make its final stand. Download and read the thrilling conclusion today!
Reborn as an AI at two hundred.
Eric lives a normal life. He has a job. A girlfriend. He owns an apartment. He matters.
And then he dies.
He wakes up a couple of centuries later inside an advanced infantry robot whose AI core harbors his consciousness. In industry parlance, he is what's known as a Mind Refurb.
Eric is soon thrust into an experimental army unit known as the Bolt Eaters, composed of fellow Mind Refurbs. Thrown into the latest cesspools of war and conflict across the world, the Bolt Eaters make short work of any opponents. It's almost a cakewalk for the high-tech robots.
His latest deployment is just about to end, and Eric is looking forward to spending the next few months exploring the different virtual reality worlds available to AIs like himself, when aliens decide to invade, stranding his unit in the middle of nowhere, cut off from all support.
That's right, the feces has smashed right through the fan, and now he must face the ultimate test with the machines he has come to know as brothers: a deadly game of cat and mouse, played against a technologically superior, utterly alien foe; a game whose stakes include not just their lives, but the lives of every man, woman, and child on the planet.
It's time to matter once more.
Eric never thought he'd live long enough to witness an alien invasion. He was right. He died 200 years ago.
But then the army decided to revive him, implanting his consciousness into the AI core of an advanced military killing machine. Right on the cusp of a visit from extraterrestrial invaders.
He and his platoon, the Bolt Eaters, now struggle to escape the clutches of the alien bioweapons that have a stranglehold on the planet. The team members grapple, too, with perhaps a bigger problem: their newly awakened emotions. It's hard to be an effective killing machine when suddenly you've developed a conscience. Throw in a wildcard in the form of a rogue Russian AI that wants to slaughter them all, and the Bolt Eaters certainly have their work cut out for them.
As the tensions between team members rise, and the odds worsen, the Bolt Eaters do the only thing they can do, the thing they were programmed to do. They fight.
Eventually the platoon makes a discovery that could change the course of the invasion. Assuming, of course, that they can overcome their inner demons and survive long enough to use it.
Rade intends to use a research station on the planet as his base of operations. Located within a four-kilometer stretch between the day and night regions where the mercury averages twice the boiling point of water, the station exists on a barren, inhospitable tract of land where vaporized rock from the day side routinely falls as silicate rain.
In those scorching conditions, a human in a jumpsuit can last maybe five minutes.
A human in a Hoplite battle suit, a little longer.
Unfortunately, when the team arrives at the station, the research scientists are not quite who they appear to be...
Contains: over-the-top action sequences, inappropriate jokes, and graphic bug sex (just kidding - sort of)
Eric and the Bolt Eaters only just finished saving the world when the aliens decided to return. Now the otherworldly mothership lingers in orbit, watching, waiting.
The people of Earth aren’t going to let those bastards strike first this time: the military has hatched a plan to destroy the alien vessel.
It probably won't work. In fact, it’s a suicide mission.
Which is exactly why they’re sending in the Bolt Eaters: human minds implanted into the most powerful war machines ever created. If the platoon fails, they can simply be restored from backups and sent again. And again.
As an added incentive to their success, the military has dangled the carrot of freedom: if the Bolt Eaters triumph, their psyches will be installed into civilian robots and given ownership of their mind backups.
It’s a carrot Eric doesn’t need: someone’s gotta save humanity.
It might as well be him.
Logan Asher and his elite squad emerged from the ashes of the old world to wage a guerrilla war against the machines.
Every day brings them new recruits, and yet for every man Logan has, the machines have ten.
When the squad discovers a seeming rival faction of robots under the control of a mysterious man who calls himself the Progenitor, Logan believes he's found the secret to saving humanity.
It will require convincing the Progenitor to help them. And leading Logan's men into the hell of a machine nexus once more. The task certainly won't be easy: the robots have been upgrading. Generation Two bots have better firepower, better armor, and better tactics.
Can Logan overcome his demons in time to complete the mission, and more importantly, can he save his rifle squad?
World War R 2: the end of the world was just the beginning.
Logan Asher and his elite squad are sent to the Red Sea to put an end to a terrorist cell.
It's meant to be a simple in and out mission. His rangers have the edge. Better training. Better firepower. Better gear. Plus a slew of support bots.
But then all of their tech turns on them. Their smart goggles go dark. Their weapons jam. The machines that once fought at their sides now shoot at them.
Cut off from HQ, Logan and his men fight for their lives to get home. No matter where they turn, the machines hunt them. On land, sea, and air.
They must rely upon their wits, their training, and their very humanity to survive, knowing that even if they make it back, the Land of the Free might not be so free anymore...
The Green homeworld is under attack by an aquatic species known as the Hydra. The Greens have mounted a desperate defense, but their planet is falling.
Surus, a Green who just so happens to be the current employer of Rade and his Argonauts, plans to return to her homeworld to offer what aid she can. Rade agrees to help, as humanity owes her a great debt.
After Rade and his team arrive in specially constructed Titan battle suits, they are soon tasked with a covert operation involving the Hydra empress.
When the mission turns sour, Rade must call upon all of his training to save himself and his men, and salvage what little of the operation he can.
But it may be too late.
Eric has been reprogrammed by the Banthar to lead the invasion against Earth. Trapped in his machine body, he has full conscious awareness but no actual control as he is forced to watch humankind enslaved at his own hands.
There is a small chance Eric could break free of the alien control, but at a terrible price: because he is so intricately linked with the invading force, his freedom could lead to Earth’s final destruction.
What do you do when the only way to escape is to destroy all of your friends, and everything you ever loved?

Eric was happily retired. His consciousness resided inside the body of an advanced android. He had two beautiful female companions, a platoon of war hero friends, and the entire floor of an apartment building to call his own. He had paid his dues, having saved the world during his previous stint in the army, and now he could live out the rest of his life in peace and quiet. As an android, he expected that life to last a very long time.
And then the army came knocking at his door again.
Soon he and his platoon find themselves dispatched to an alien world. Piloting Devastators, mechs equipped with enough firepower to take down a small army, Eric and his platoon are scouting the planet ahead of a planned human invasion.
When things start to go very wrong, and the platoon finds itself cut off from support and surrounded by enemies on all sides, Eric begins to wonder if it will truly be humanity doing the invading, and not the aliens.
Book one of a standalone military science fiction trilogy, Reactivated ends in a cliffhanger. Book two, Reforged, is available now.
They finish with not a moment to spare: heat signatures matching the assailants are spotted sunward. Too many heat signatures.
Hopelessly outnumbered, Captain Jonathan Dallas, commander of the flagship, chooses to escape through the newly completed Gate. But what the task group finds on the other side changes everything...
The brave men and women under Jonathan's command have already proven themselves in the heat of battle, but now he must further test their resolve, not to mention his own. With enemies at every turn, it seems combat against overwhelming odds is inevitable.
The path Jonathan chooses is laden with danger. One small mistake can lead to the ruin of the entire fleet. Will he steer his intrepid battle group through the stormy waters of the current crisis? Or will he fail, dooming them all to cold deaths in the void, captains and crews going down with their ships?
It is a trial like no other. A crucible that cannot be won with strength alone.
It is his greatest test of mettle yet.
Rade and his ragtag team of security consultants are called in to investigate. What could go wrong?
A whole lot, actually.
When an alien invasion seems imminent, Rade has to find a way to get his team out before it’s too late.
Contains: intense action sequences, crude jokes, and a whole lot of bugs.
