About the Author
Born in Barcelona in 1971, at the age of 18 Raule won the comics competition in Bellvitge, the city he grew up in. He began drawing at the Joso school, but there he realized that drawing was not for him...He preferred writing. He collaborated with Roger Ibáñez, with whom he formed a winning duo as they worked together for Otaku, the manga magazine published by Norma. They then published Hole'n'Virgin, Amores muertos and Cabos sueltos at Amaníaco before releasing the Jazz Maynard series with Dargaud (2015 Europe Comics). Raule then wrote La conjetura de Poincaré (Diábolo Ediciones) with veteran Josep Mª Saurí. Since his drawing studies, he has never put his pen down, developing a unique writing style over the course of his albums, a result of dipping his quill into the ink of the Barcelona suburbs as well as the film reels of this genre. Currently he is working with Gabor on the adventures of the female samurai Isabellae, published by Le Lombard (2016 Europe Comics).

The first volume hooked me to continue reading, but this volume felt rushed not well planned out, but artwork was great. They could have wrote more volumes, they fast forwarded the journey to get to Ireland, which I found more interesting then the hole story in Ireland.

It's good, most of the time

In volume 2 of Isabelle we catch up with Isabelle and her family of choice three years later, in which time they have crossed oceans and lands to reach Ireland, where Isabelle's mother came from decades earlier. As it turns out, some of Isabelle's extended family still live there-but a family reunion isn't what they are after.
The Druids want everyone who isn't Irish gone from Ireland and the Old Ways reasserted, by any means-and Isabelle is the living key to their goals. The fact that Isabelle herself may not agree is, apparently, irrelevant. Fortunately for her, her companions follow her lead, not the Druids-and that proves a major issue.
Isabelle makes her way as she always has, selling her sword and skills to make ends meet as she looks for answers, but this time the stakes are FAR higher. If The Druids are able to restore the "true" Ireland they plan to summon ancient beings once defeated by mythical ancestor beings and driven away forever to safeguard it. The people who live there initially have no idea-and the few who find out are appalled. Without Isabelle's power, however, none of that will be possible.
So, as always, Isabelle is the one everything hinges on...
