“Damn her for being the one he could never forget. And the one he was destined to destroy.”
I am not a huge paranormal reader, I even body swerved it at any and every opportunity before I became addicted to anything that Amy Bartol penned thanks to a friend that strong armed me to read it, but sometimes you have to hold your hands up and admit you were wrong.
I have followed Ella Frank from the beginning, an author I stumbled across thanks to an Amazon recommendation and I have never looked back. Ella Frank has turned her hand to many genres and in my opinion she has excelled in all of them, I have to put my hands up and say is there anything that Ella Frank cannot write? This is one author whose writing style I can connect with, Ella Frank never fails to draw me into her stories and her characters. She always nails character connection to the point where I personally am totally immersed in their life and feel like I am living it, that is an amazing talent to have and not many authors can pull it off.
“Se empistevome. I trust you.”
I loved the first book in this series, Alasdair, and I was eagerly anticipating reading Isadora. I had become so immersed in this world of vampires that Ella Frank had painstakingly created that I didn’t want to leave and the next book could not come soon enough. So, when Isadora hit my kindle I was buzzing with anticipation, after the ending of Alasdair I needed to dive in and so I did.
“I believe it was a footprint of sorts. A moment imprinted in time.”
Once again it did not take long to be whisked away into Ella’s world of our incredibly hot Greek God sired vampires.Read more ›
The book may be titled Isadora, but you get a good healthy dose of all of your favorite sexy vamps from the first book. I love the way that these relationships cultivate from book one into book two, and I personally was so excited to reunite with my favorite trio, Alasdair, Leo & Vasilios. I absolutely fell more in love with them, and I was so excited to see Leo come out of his shell and stand up for himself and what he wanted. Vasilios was my favorite from the first book, and he still is, but damn these other characters are giving him a run for his money!
By other characters, I’m talking about Isadora, Elias and Diomedes. I absolutely LOVE the dynamic between these three!! Like major love! Diomedes completely stole the show in my opinion. Isadora is his first sired, and the lengths he goes through to make her happy and protect her just made me totally fall for him. And then there’s Daphne. Oh boy. This was another first for me, and damn was it sexy as hell. Between Elias, Daphne, and Diomedes, let’s just say that Isadora has had her fill of sexy time, she is one lucky lady vampire!
You also get to know Eton and Thanos. Eton is an ancient along with Vasilios and Diomedes, and his first sired is Thanos. The stuff that these ancients do in order to preserve their species is truly amazing and sweet. I don’t want to say that it’s sweet, but it totally is.Read more ›
ARC RECEIVED FROM AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW
Isadora Nikitas was the beautiful daughter of an Emperor, blossoming into womanhood and involved in a forbidden love. The tragic events that happen next shape her future in ways she never expected, She is pursued by Diomedes, a mysterious Vampire who promises to watch over her forever and gift her with immortality. But he cannot give her everything she needs or desires. Elias Fontana knows Isadora in ways that she has shielded her Ancient from. Elias is the man who can give her the physical passion she desires. But the connection they shared has been severed by Isadora leaving him behind and Elias's knowledge of what Isadora is. Elias's creators instruct him to destroy the Vampires with the aid of his colleagues Leo and Paris. This will be made more difficult by the fact that Paris is clueless as to his part in all of this and Leo's involvement with Alasdair, a stunning Vampire and his Ancient Vasilios. I loved this book even more than the first. The layering of the characters and the history of the Vampires and humans drive this tale. Like a fine wine all the notes have you enthralled with whoever the current passage is about....you want to know them all. Ella Frank spins a tale of Masters and Monsters that you don't want to end. Bring on book 3
Leo makes the ultimate sacrifice to save his life and that of his friends, he agrees to become the property of Vasilios's. They had no idea what they were getting into when he ingested Vasilios' blood.
Leo and Alasdair get Isa back and take Elias and Paris back to the lair. We get to see more from the Gods, but still don't know what the final plan is supposed to be. Elias thinks he is going to die but will Isa be able to do it? We get the back story of when she met and was turned by Diomedes, and also how he ended up being an ancient. Their relationship is one of true love and adoration, different from Vasilios and Alasdair.
Paris, in his bid for freedom, finds himself locked in with Thanos. Thanos is in a bad emotional way after what happened to him and he pushes everyone away, including his sire Eton. But he seems drawn to Paris, that seems to be the beginning of the Gods' master plan.
Elias was told they were created to end the vampires, but with each story I wonder if it isn't really that they were created to bring compassion back to the race and lead them.
