The h is the H's executive assistant. They've been attracted to each other for the two years she's worked for him, but they've both ignored it. She because he gets around and she thinks he's not interested, and he because she's never indicated she's willing to explore their attraction and he's not willing to lose her as his assistant. She decides that she can't take it anymore and resigns. He tries to persuade her to stay (because she makes his business run smoothly). They agree that she would spend the Christmas holidays with him on his island, and he wouldn't object to her resigning. They have sex. He gets called away by a family emergency and shuts her out emotionally, telling her that HR will handle her resignation. She goes to mope at her father's B&B. Glimpse into her father's love life. The H comes after her and apologizes. She yells at him. They have sex. She says she loves him, he doesn't respond. She yells at him and tells him to leave her life. He leaves. She panics and decides to chase after him. He comes back and proposes. HEA.
What I liked best? The love scenes, of course =) Kathrine does them *very* well - leaving out just enough for your own imagination to fill in the blanks. She also really does know how to build up the suspense over the whole book - it's just so boring when it's all said and done on page three and the rest is filler.
All in all, I really did enjoy the read and will definitely check out some of her other books!
