Loved the story

I bought this book yesterday and finished it this morning. I loved the way she went back in a time and encountered most of the same people from the present. I also loved how the connection reached across time. The romance was sweet and the intimate scenes were just right. There weren't too many of them and I didn't feel like I was being given and anatomy lesson. It was nice to find a novel that focused more on the romance than the sex. A lot of authors in the Romance genre seem to get the two confused and forget that sex is a side affect of romance and not the other way around.

The beginning took a little bit to pull me in, but once it did I didn't stop reading until the very early morning hours. The writing was good and the story was great.

It does need editing and the transitions between scenes and sometimes point of view could be smoother and more filled out. There were times when it wasn't clear exactly what happened or how they got from one place to another and I had to back read to see if I missed something. Even so, the story held me. This would have been a five star if not for these issues. Hopefully in the future the author gets a good editor. This book would have really shined.

Despite the editing issues, I really enjoyed this read.

UGH! Why oh why didn't I read a sample of this book before I bought it? It was so poorly written and stupid I couldn't even finish it. The story jumps around so much in the beginning you can't tell what's what, what's where, what is when or who is who! I'm bored by all these supposed heroines who have nothing to recommend them. UGH! Here is another average Jane who, for no explainable reason, seems to catch the eye of this supposed gorgeous hunk who everyone desires, but centers his attention on this stupid girl. Who in their right mind would do and think some of the things this nit-whit does? She just gets out of this room she is supposedly locked into and "Surprise" she goes back in there-willingly! HA! Why is it so attractive to be obstinate, stubborn and air-headed? Is she supposed to be this independent, strong willed beauty? If so, it didn't come across. She is just numb-brained.
I know it is a romance novel, but this is just a series of set ups to build up to a love scene! Poorly done at that! I'm sure I will get in trouble for writing this review because I didn't finish the book, but really, it was too stupid to go on past the first five or six chapters. I did try! It was just too contrived and obvious, and Ugh! I'm sorry I spent the money on it. I'll learn to read the samples before I buy on my Kindle from now on. Doesn't even deserve one star.

I cannot believe there are any positive reviews for this book! I guess you really do get what you pay for! The grammer in this book is TERRIBLE! I can only think that either the author or her editor or both got paid by the comma as they were liberally used throughout the book in places they definitely should not have been. In addition, while the plot was a unique and intriguing one, the actually story was terribly told. The story was so stilted that I could never (not once) lose myself in the story like I usually do with other novels. The characters would be doing something one minute and in the very next sentence would be doing something else entirely. For instance, the hero and the heroine were at one point driving along in a carriage having a conversation. In the very next sentence, the hero is setting down the heroine and she's talking about feeling faint of heights as she looks out over a cliff. However, until this point in the scene there had been no mention of a cliff and neither is there any mention of the carriage coming to a stop nor the hero getting out of the carriage in order to help the heroine. I did read the entire novel hoping it would get at least marginally better at some point, but I was enormously disappointed. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

You have to read this book, it held my interest to the end! I never knew what was coming next. I am hoping this author will take some of the main characters and use them for a sequel to her next book. I read ALL the time, and many different kinds of books, this one really held my interest..... If you want to escape for a while go to this Island, get a cup of coffee or tea, and sit back and go away for a time travel adventure. Some time travels can be complicated, not this one!! JUST ENJOY..... PIE

This story had alot of twist and turns and full of surprises and a romance that spread across the years of time. It was a very interesting book. The strength of the love between Lila and Shane was felt in each time period. The events in each were full of secrets and events. I did re-read the first half because I seemed to have missed the foundation of the whole story. I am so glad I did. what a great time travel/mystery/love story in two time periods, full of surpises. A must read...slowly.

Rarely do I have the time to read for pleasure; however, I came across this title and decided to download it on my kindle app on my phone, thinking that I would read it when I could find the time. I found a few spare minutes over Christmas break and decided to start on this book. Much to my surprise, I could not put it down. I read the entire book, from cover to cover, in one day! This book was that good. In fact, this book was excellent. I love the imagery used in the description of the characters and scenes. I felt like I was actually watching the events unfold. I will definitely make the time to read it again. I hope there will be more from this author very soon.

I took a chance on this lovely novel even though it is a little outside my comfort zone but I am glad I did. The story is imaginative and witty. I enjoyed the themes and carry over of characters through time. In my opinion it is very balanced between historic and modern day romance. If you are a fan of either (or both) don't miss your chance to experience Shane (yum!) and Lila first hand!
