Pros: It's very pretty, it has some resonance. I like the slightly-wider neck and the action is nice and low. I've only had it a a bit over a week, so I'm hoping it will improve, but how much do laminate tops improve over time?
I wanted a clear-sounding uke and a more-highly-rated brand than my Caramel mahogany concert. The videos I found on YouTube sounded like this uke and brand would be the answer, but either I got unlucky or the YouTubers did some sound production on their videos. Since I added a strap button before I realized how bad it was I can't return it either, so now I'm stuck with it.
I've changed the tuning machines to Grovers, and put D'Addario fluorocarbon strings on it (can't tell what it came with), and it does sound different but the sound is still muddy, particularly on the C string. The Caramel is much clearer, louder, and $100 less (though currently not available).
My Caramel concert was $100 cheaper, has a solid top, and I haven't had to change a thing on it yet. I should have bought another Caramel. :-/ (And still might.)
