Bradt's new guidebook doesn't claim to offer an alternative 'roadmap' to Middle-East harmony but it does inform and will certainly enrich any visit to the world's most complex religio-political destination. (Travel Media)
Among the many good guidebooks, the Bradt Guide to Israel by Samantha Wilson is well written and useful. (Simon Calder The Independent)
Although the first [edition] was produced only two years ago, this updated version includes fresh information on eating places and hotels and in typical Bradt style features a wealth of useful material on everything from single words and phrases, to a potted history and touring essentials .... Samantha Wilson has included most of what not only the first time traveller but the seasoned visitor to Israel might need to know about the country. (Jewish Telegraph)
Recommended reading. (National Geographic Traveller)
About the Author
Samantha Wilson spent several years living in Israel and is a regular visitor from her home in the UK. She has explored every corner of Israel's little land, meeting people, unearthing fascinating stories and learning about the deep-rooted cultures. Along with the two previous editions of Bradt's Israel she has authored many guide and travel books, and penned articles for a wide variety of publications including National Geographic Traveller. Samantha currently lives in rural Somerset from where she can write with views of rolling countryside. She makes regular trips back to Israel to travel, research and visit the in-laws, for a country that wasn't originally on the trip itinerary has become a second home.
