The guide is well structured with easy to find information. The planning section is concise and very well considered. It provides all you need to feel super confident about hiking the trail, including when things don't quite go according to plan.
The authors have done a superb job in the trail description section, balancing trail notes with interesting facts and without compromising weight. I also personally love the daily profile charts.
The guide is structured better if you are hiking north to south. The thing I would prefer is to have the entire description for south to north included. Then I could remove the section of the direction I wasn't using and still have it all in order. As it is, if you hike from the South, once you reach Tel Aviv, even if you are still hiking south to north, you have to read the trail description for north to south and mentally reverse it. Not a big deal and I am sure that was a very considered decision of the authors to write it that way in their attempts to keep the weight of the guide book to a minimum.
There is excellent map detail and coverage - you could feel very confident hiking with maps alone if you wanted or had to.
Overall, this is probably the best trail guide book I've come across. Extremely well done and a big thank you to Jacob and Yagil and Dany.
there were some hard working people that put this book together and it is worth every sent spent.
Just the postage to South Africa or in South Africa was very slow took almost 1 and a half months to get here.
Hope other South Africans dont have such a delay as I did.
Thank you for your friendly response when I thought the book was not arriving. You put in the effort to find out
where it was and was prepared to assist me to get it in time.
PS. It is not mentioned, but Israel is starting to place water faucets along the trail. They only have a few up and running, but it is important to look into.
