I read this story when I was a teen. Oh, what a good story! I had to buy a copy for myself, as an adult, to have in my home library. My teen daughter enjoyed it immensely, too. So many people borrowed it that one day I realized it wasn't coming home again and we didn't know who had borrowed it last, so I had to buy myself ANOTHER copy.

I read this book for a book group that I'm in and thought it was going to be some shmarmy (I made that word up) Christian lovey-dovey story. It went far beyond my expectations and it opened my eyes to Biblical teachings based through old traditional judaic practices that aren't taught in the Christian church. The author is a Messianic Jew and did a beautiful and memorable job of bridging what many Christians simply don't know for the simple sake of we just didn't know! This has forever changed how I read and understand the the virgins being prepared with their oil lamps.

This is as fast and easy read and I HIGHLY recommend it!

Zola tells the story of a present day bride who wants to incorporate old customs into her wedding plans. He also shows how Jesus' parable of the ten virgins also symbolizes the coming rapture of the church," the Bride of Christ".

The book is wonderful and illustrates a spiritual truth through the description of a Jewish Wedding ceremony. It is an engaging story set in Israel in the 1970's but could just as well be happening there today.
