"Easy task. What could go wrong!?"
Sadie Reed vowed she was sone with love after her good for nothing ex-boyfriend betrayed her in the most unexpected way. Her past choices nearly got her sisters killed. She closed her heart off from ever finding happiness again. And she decided to leave Chance Creek cause she felt as if she'd let Two Willows down.
"Can she run from her destiny!?"
When the handsome Connor O'Riley showed up at Two Willows, with orders from her father General August Reed to help Sadie build her legacy, she gave him one month to get it done. Sadie didn't feel the connection to her plants and herbs anymore, her senses only came alive when Connor was touching her.
Connor awakened some part of her that she'd been shielding herself from. He shared with Sadie about his past and his parents separation. Though he knew his mother loved him and he was in contact with her, his parents' dovorce left him closed off to long-term relationships.
Despite Brian (ISSUED TO THE BRIDE : ONE NAVY SEAL) and the Reed sisters stopping a portion of a drug trafficking organization they weren't out of danger yet. When a strange man showed up at Two Willows, Comnor didn't like the way the man acted around Jo. And he took matters into his hands along with Sheriff Cab Johnson (THE SHERIFF CATCHES A BRIDE).
Connor knew he had to dorget about the women in his past if only those said women could forget about him. The ladies insistence created a misunderstanding between him and Sadie. Connor's of commitment changed when he lost his heart to Sadie and vice versa.
Sadie, Jo and Cass found themselves in danger and the aftermath left Jo vowing to stay clear of men as Sadie did before her. What the evildoers don't realize is that the Reeds will fight tooth and nail for their land and each other.
It was surreal how well the late Amelia knew her husband, I totally understood the General's fears reagarding going home to Two Willows. But like his late wife said in her letters, he needed to stop hiding and face his fears.
ISSUED TO THE BRIDE : ONE AIRMAN is the second installment in Cora Seton's BRIDES OF CHANCE CREEK series. It was sexy, emotional and exhilarating. Cora Seton did an outstanding job. 5++++
****ARC given in exchange for an honest review.****
Sadie and Connor's book is a mix of old world charm and new world danger. His broken family comes from Ireland, so when he learns of the special things that happen on this land, he isn't as skeptical as others might be. He's lived among people, including his own family members, who believe in the magic the land can hold. Sadie has always had a special connection to the land that no one else knows about. Inheriting the ability from her mother, she' been able to communicate with the land, know what the plants need to thrive. But since the trouble with the drug dealers, in Cass and Brian's book, which was the first in the series, she has trouble communicating with the land. Then along come Connor who seems to help give her back that special connection with the ranch she's always had. Of course, things are not always that easy, and the danger is never really over.
I love this Issued to the Bride series. The women are all "self sufficient," and the men have all done something that gets them into trouble and thrown into the General's unit. But neither the men nor the women on the ranch know the task that the General has been given or where the direction for his match making meddling has come from. They're not only sweet love stories that begin with the first meeting and are filled with adventure and enlightenment, but there's and element of charm and magic that wakes each couple to the possibilities along with an underlying danger and intrigue that give us just enough edge or our seats excitement. And no one tells it like Ms Seton. She gives us a taste of a life that makes each of us wish we could live there and be a part of the Chance Creek community. The end of each book has us impatiently waiting for the next.
