Cass Reed has grown up with a father who put the service first ahead of family. She is the protector of her sisters and always tries to take care of things on her own. She is used to not sharing any troubles, even with her own sisters.
Cass’ father is not as indifferent to his daughters as he seems. He is a bit of a Machiavelli type character. The General offers Brian a chance to be a part of the ranch his daughters are running and belongs in his former wife’s family. Brian is reluctant to do what the General asks of him but he is in a position where he can not easily say no.
This is a new series that is separate from the SEALs of Chance Creek and the Heroes of Chance Creek. But like the other books that take place in Chance Creek, you do get a chance to revisit some old friends if you have read the other series. If you haven’t read any other series by Ms. Seton, this book will give you a glimpse into the wonderful world she has created in the fictional town of Chance Creek, Montana.
There are several twists and unexpected turns in this story and I am eagerly waiting on the next book in this series. Each book is separate story in and of itself but it is also part of a larger story arc.
This is a perfect read for a cold rainy or snowy day when you need to relax. So send the kids and men out to play and plan a relaxing afternoon nestled into a favorite chair and read this book.
Language (a lot of f-bombs) and sexual situations may offend some readers
This is a series of stand alone books, but would probably be best to read in order
