My husband took me to Italy for my 50th birthday. When he suggested a similar trip for my 65th this fall, I took to the Internet and discovered this great new travel guide for baby boomers. I was looking for an out of the way spot on the Ligurian coast, and the amazing photo of Riomagiorre, Cinque Terre, made me put this village at the top of our list. It sounds perfect. "Sometimes a baby boomer traveler needs to grab the opportunity while it's still there," writes Donna Hull. This woman totally gets it. I can no longer climb the way I could at 50, so I took special note of her tips with boomers in mind. Although I bought the book for Italy, recommendations for coastal California will also come in handy, since I go out every winter to see my grandkids and plan to spend more time exploring in the future. China was on also on my list. Donna Hull explains how steep the stairs are on the Great wall. Check that one off. I had no idea. There's a wealth of information in this handy ebook. Restaurants, places to stay (a castle!), links to local bloggers. A must for traveling baby boomers.

This engaging and easy-to-read book offers sound advice and tips on what to do, where to stay, and what to see at the memorable travel destinations around the world described by the author (and visited with her photographer husband). "My Itchy Feet" isn't a travel guide, per se; instead, it offers compelling narrative (and stunning photography) that make you want to click on the hyperlinks or go online to plan your next trip as soon as possible. The 297-pages can easily be read in one sitting. My favorite section was Chapter IX, The Traveler's Toolkit, which provides helpful tips on a variety of topics ranging from how to research a vacation rental to how to survive a cruise bus excursion. In the same chapter, Donna answers questions readers may be thinking, such as how the couple stands all the "togetherness," and whether they miss their friends and family while they are away. (Not to spoil the answers, this travel duo seems to be having the time of their lives.)

Donna Hall writes very clearly about the places that she has visited... you share vicariously with her and her husband as they travel to northern Italy, the glaciers of Alaska, and other places that may be on your travel bucket list.

The Travelers toolkit and travel resources contains links of interest to anyone that would like to travel where Donna has gone.

At $4.95 this is a real bargain and should be on your Kindle when you travel.

I'm one of those people who will pretty much go anywhere, anytime (with a few exceptions.) In this book, author Donna Hull showcases 5 specific locations (Northern Italy, Coastal California, Hawaii, Asia, and New Zealand), along with information about nature adventures and cruises. What I like about the book is she highlights the must-see attractions in the main cities, but then she shares hidden gems off the beaten path. While I will certainly use her suggestions, especially when going to Northern Italy and New Zealand, she writes in a fun way that makes you feel like you're there. It's a fun read, whether you're traveling or not.

As baby boomers reach retirement age and start to gaze at travel destinations, this is a great reference book.
