On to the actual review...for informational purposes, most of the bottled "green tea" sold in the US is nothing like real green tea. It's essentially tea-flavored kool-aid, with ingredients that have no business being there. Do not expect Oi Ocha to taste anything like these beverages and you won't be disappointed.
Mellow and ever-so-slightly nutty, Oi Ocha's flavor is delicate, subtle, and amazingly refreshing. Drink it as cold as possible, and store unused portions in the refrigerator after opening. (Left out and oxidized, it turns dark and the taste goes bad. I have a theory that this is what the prior reviewer may have inadvertently done.) It doesn't have a single calorie, and contains 120% of your daily value of vitamin C per serving, but I don't drink it because it happens to be healthy...I drink it because it tastes so very, very good. Oi Ocha is the best.
Hoping it would taste the same but it wasn't. So I went ahead and cancelled my auto delivery.
They charge the same price for the Taiwan made tea.
Amazon has been shipping my the Taiwanese version of the product instead of the one clearly marked "Product of Japan." Now, with many things, that difference in manufacturing location would not bother me. But, in this case it does. At first I thought that the packaging had just been changed. The cases from Japan are in well-made, very sturdy boxes with handles, and the ones from Taiwan are half-box with shrink-wrap over top. Cheap and much more difficult to carry up to my second story apartment. I was prepared to accept the change in packaging without complaint - until I opened the first bottle of tea.
I wrote to Amazon about the packaging issue before I tasted the tea, and of course, did not see any improvement in the next shipment. It came from Taiwan too... disappointing. Amazon should listen to us more often.
I tasted something "off" about the tea when I opened the first bottle from the first Taiwanese case I received. (I didn't even know it was from there at the time.) The different taste (I really can't put my finger on what it was that got my attention, but it was distinctly different) caused me to look at the bottle more closely. When I saw the source, I realized that I wasn't getting my beloved JAPANESE tea. I know, I know it's still Ito En, which SHOULD mean it's ok, and the same, but it's not.Read more ›

Great bulk price. Typically more if you buy them in singles at Japanese markets.Published 5 hours ago by guber
I love the taste and am having it auto-delivered. I can't find any tea bags that taste the same. It has the taste of Jasmine teas that I get at restaurants.Published 5 days ago by Bobbi

Ito En sells the best bottled teas, and their jasmine green tea is my favorite tea on the planet. There is no added sugar. It's just a beautiful, soothing floral tea. Read morePublished 8 days ago by Kate
It's just a great summer drink: zero calories, refreshing and loaded with antioxidants. It does contain a moderate amount of caffein, though.Published 11 days ago by George Ljutich
