B.A. Dillon addresses the hot button issue in our country of everyone having a right to marry regardless of gender and she does it in such a fabulous way. Whether you agree with her or not, this book will make you take a step back and set your mind to wondering why you object to begin with. Brandon and Scott are truly in love and just like any couple who love each other, they want to belong to each other legally and they want to share their union with their friends. I had huge happy tears while reading this story.
I don't like to summarize in my reviews, but in case you are trying to decide whether or not to read, here I go. Brandon is an attorney and Scott is a teacher who owns a catering business. He's kept busy with all of his friends' weddings lol and the great parties they all seem to have. Just like every other couple, they want to get married. In fact, I love Brandon's description of what he wants for their wedding: "I want a wedding. A big, over-the-top ceremony, with everyone I know and love in attendance. I want hydrangeas on the tables, rose petals on every square inch of the ceremony venue, and good Southern cooking. I want Mia’s little girls in the frilliest flower girl dresses I can find, and you and I, sir, will be decked to the nines.” I mean, how can you not love that! That quote alone would make me want to read the book. But, I digress. When the state of Florida allows for them to marry, they seize the moment and it's an all out Southern affair mixed with loving friends, over-the-top Southern mamas, and all the craziness involved with getting a wedding together. I loved every minute of it!
As they prepare, you will become wrapped up in their story as they take a walk down memory lane on how they met and if you haven't read the other books in the series, do so, you will get an even greater understanding of these two beautiful guys.
The author deserves the 5 stars I'm awarding her with this novel. She introduces you to two characters you will want for your BFF's and then grabs your heart as they make their love for each a legal union. This is a definite reread for me. Congratulations, B.A. Dillon...such a fabulous book!
