About the Author

Claire Christian is a writer and theater-maker who lives in Brisbane. She has had four plays published by Playlab, and was one of the YWCA Queensland’s 125 leading women in 2013. Her debut novel Beautiful Mess won the Text Prize for Young Adult & Children’s Writing in 2016. It’s Been a Pleasure, Noni Blake is her first novel for adults.

Claire Christian is a storyteller; a playwright, author, theatre maker and facilitator based in Brisbane, Australia. Her first novel, Beautiful Mess won the Text Publishing Text Prize in 2016 and was released in 2017. Her play Lysa and The Freeborn Dames debuted at La Boite in 2018 and is published by Playlab. She has had the great joy of directing Michelle Law’s smash hit comedy Single Asian Female since 2017. Her second novel, a contemporary queer rom-com, It’s Been A Pleasure, Noni Blake was released in October, 2020, and released in North America in 2021. Claire has a pug named Midge, a deep affinity for garlic bread, and she never has boring hair…ever.
